You may have recently noticed a few updates to the photo gallery element. Now we offer you the option to add captions on your images or setup links to other pages or websites!  This feature is very easy to use -- just click on your photo gallery images in the editor and you'll see a few icons. The chain link icon is used to setup an image link and the text bubble icon is used to add a caption. The captions show when you're viewing the gallery images at full size or when hovering your mouse over the thumbnail. Check out the examples below and let us know what you think in the comments! A gallery using captions:    A gallery using links:    Weebly is of course the best way to build your own website, but now we're piloting a new program that would let a professional design team create your Weebly website for you! After a quick consultation about what you need on your website, our design partners would go to town, building you a website worthy of an award. Once you're satisfied, the website would be transferred into your Weebly account so you can update it using the familiar Weebly editor. We're looking for a few volunteers who'd like to give this a try, for free. It's okay if you already have a website -- we can redesign it! For this pilot test, we're primarily in search of small business owners looking for a more professional website & design. We're only able to select a few volunteers for this opportunity, but in the future, this service will be available to everyone for a reasonable fee. We've just released a new customizable poll feature, in partnership with PollDaddy! You can now drag and drop a poll on your page, edit and customize it right from within the Weebly editor. Here's a sample poll: The new polling element comes jam-packed with features, and you don't even have to leave Weebly to use it! Simply drag on the "Online Poll" widget from within the "More" category, click it, and then click "Edit Poll".  From there, you can create multiple polls, set up the question you're asking, add and remove answers, and set up the poll theme. After you're done, click "Save Poll" -- the overlay window closes and you're immediately back in the Weebly editor. It's as simple as that! We've been working at a break-neck pace to keep making Weebly better and better for you. We're monitoring your feedback very closely, and developing the features you request most. We've just released an awesome amount of features that we've been working on, including sub-pages, a video player, a flash element, embedded documents and foreign currency support! Sub-Pages This is quite possibly the most exciting feature of this release. When editing your site's pages under the "Pages" tab, you can now drag these pages left and right to group them under other pages. This allows you to order your pages and create a page structure, so that you can create more pages and remain organized.  Once you've defined a structure, these pages will automatically be organized in a menu format -- hover over one page, and a menu drops down with its sub-pages. There is no limit to the number of pages and sub-pages you can create, so you can have the freedom to unleash your creativity! The "More" Link As part of this release, excess pages that would have previously caused the menu to overflow onto two lines will now be grouped into a "More" category. If you don't want Weebly to do that, there is an option under the "Settings" tab to disable this new functionality. New Pro FeaturesWhile we're constantly improving Weebly for everyone, we're also thinking about those of you that show us the ultimate form of support by purchasing a pro account. Two of the new features, the video player and embedded documents, are now part of Weebly Pro. Video Player  The video element allows you to upload a video directly within Weebly, and display the video in a professional, unbranded player. It's as simple as dragging on the video player and uploading a video. No need to visit any other sites and, best of all, your video will be displayed with a very professional presentation: no branding, and a simple, sleek UI. Embedded Documents  The embedded documents element lets you upload a document, such as a Word, Excel or Powerpoint file, and have it be displayed in a window on your page. Instead of forcing your visitors to download the file to view it, they can now see its contents, right from your web page! Other New Features We've also released a few other new features, such as a Flash element, that lets you upload a Flash file and have it displayed on your page, as well as foreign currency support in all e-commerce elements, which lets you choose other currencies besides US Dollars when using PayPal. We've released quite a few features in the past couple months, so we decided to spend the last couple weeks completely focused on improving the speed and function of the editor.  Editor Load and Response Time As you can tell, this is a huge improvement, and we're excited to be able to roll it out live tonight. We've made quite a few other incremental changes, such as improved design for certain parts of the editor, as well as a significant number of bug fixes and other improvements. We also had quietly pushed some changes over the last month, such as bulleted and numbered list support, a "Read more" break element that lets you control the length of your blog posts' previews, the ability to add image captions and edit the image's ALT tags, the ability to choose a blog post's "permalink", and that your blog will now recognize and highlight comments made by you when you are logged in. Even better, there are a few exciting things coming up that we will be able to release soon, so stay tuned! We're launching a simple yet powerful way for you to create an online store through Weebly today. You can read about it at TechCrunch and VentureBeat, but I wanted to take a minute here to introduce you to the new features.  When editing your site, there are now 4 new elements in the "Revenue" category: Product Block, Product Small, Product Regular and Product Large. The first time you drag one of these on, you will be prompted to associate your PayPal or Google Checkout account with Weebly, so you won't have to worry about that again. Each style has a different way of organizing your product, so you can have full control over how it is displayed. Even better, mix and match styles to draw attention to certain products over others, include colors variations or other options, and add variety to your store. Next, you simply upload a picture, add a title for the product, enter a description and (most importantly) enter a price. All of these aspects are fully customizable, so you can hide the picture or description, or change to any other format without dragging on another product. You have all of the Weebly tools available to create your store. Build it out however you want with complete flexibility -- add featured products on the home page, create pages for categories or products, and feature videos, audio and photo galleries to show off your products in the best light. Best of all, Weebly does not take a cut of your sales, and these features are included free in all Weebly accounts -- so you can get started selling easily and for free!      We've created a couple sample stores, with screenshots above, so you can see some of the power and flexibility of the system, but we're even more excited to see what you can create! We'll continue featuring existing sites, but will also start featuring new Weebly stores, so be sure to submit your site for consideration.  We just completed a major infrastructure upgrade during our maintenance window last Thursday, May 14th, that we've been working on for a few months. What does that mean for you? Not only should you notice that Weebly is much faster since then, but it also means that we'll be able to keep Weebly fun, snappy and responsive well into the future. From now on, we are also going to be using the weeblystatus feed to post advance notice of any schedule maintenance, so you can plan your editing activities around those times. We're getting ready to announce some exciting news soon, but I wanted to quickly post in the mean time and keep you up to date on our efforts to continue making Weebly as best as possible for you. Justin has been working on a new set of themes, and we've just released seven of them into the wild! (You can view a larger version by clicking on the preview).        Favicon customization We've also just released a new feature for Weebly Pro users: the ability to customize your favicon (that little icon that shows up in the address bar). You can now upload a favicon in the "Settings" tab in the Weebly editor! Along with the new themes and features, we've pushed a set of bug fixes and speed improvements, so the Weebly editor should now be even faster! Maintenance notificationFinally, we've set up a weeblystatus Jaiku page, where you can go to get updates and maintenance notification. You can even get an RSS feed of our status notifications.
