Check out the new & improved pages tab of the Weebly editor! We've made some changes we think you'll like: Copy a page  The ability to copy or duplicate a page was a long requested feature we're very happy to release. Now, all you need to do is click the new "Copy page" button, and with this one click, all the elements on that page will be duplicated to a new page -- a really useful feature if you're building multiple pages with similar layouts! Page specific SEO options  Another highly requested feature was the ability to specify descriptions & meta tags on a per page basis. Page descriptions and meta tags are placed in the HTML code of a page to assist search engines (like Google) in understanding the content on the page. The better a search engine understands the content on a page, the more likely it is that the page appears in search results. For our more advanced users, we added "header code" and "footer code" fields on a per page basis as well. Icons for your homepage & password protected pages  As you probably realized, the top page in your list of pages is your homepage. To make this more clear, your homepage now has a little home icon, and any pages you've password protected will have a lock icon. We hope you enjoy the improvements! We just released a completely redesigned user dashboard area that makes managing your websites, traffic stats, blog comments, form entries, billing information, and account information a whole lot easier. Check out the new design in the image below.  Clicking on the "stats" button or the options within the "more" drop down will bring you to a new set of pages where you can easily switch between viewing your website traffic stats, blog comments, and form entries submitted by visitors.    If you've upgraded to Weebly Pro or have purchased a domain with Weebly, you'll notice a new "Billing" tab that displays the status of each service (for example, active or overdue), when the service is set to expire, and a link to update the billing method on file.  While redesigning the user dashboard, we took a step back to really think about what information is important to you in managing your websites and present it in a way that is clear and intuitive. Powerful Design Options We've re-thought the "Design" tab, and separated it into 3 categories: Favorites, Design Options, and All Themes. As part of these new features, you can now choose the font type, color, size and line height for your site title, paragraph titles, paragraph text, and links! Theme GalleryThe new theme gallery is under the "All Themes" section. Once you click here, you'll find that you can now browse many more themes at a time, view more information about them, rate your favorite themes, and mark them as favorites.  When you mark a theme as a favorite, it will show up in the front of the "Favorites" section. Even more exciting, all designers are invited to participate in the Weebly theme community. Design ContestTo kick this all off, we're launching a design contest with a $10,000 top prize, and $2,000 and $1,000 second and third prizes. We've been hard at work on your most requested features to make Weebly even better for you, and we're excited to release one of the top requests: more advanced site statistics!  When you click on "View Stats" next to the site title, a new window will now open up that shows many more statistics, including:
You'll notice that we've only been collecting the new data for a little over a week, so it will fill out over time. Also, because of the some of the upgrades we made to the statistics system, you'll notice that some of the stats from Wednesday, February 17th may be under-reported by a bit.  We're finally ready to test out some new features we've been working on for a long time: a complete redesign of the "Designs" tab. Since this is such a large feature and there might be some bugs, we're releasing it to beta.weebly.com only for now, so feel free to log-in and check it out. What's new?Theme GalleryInstead of the theme categories being shown in the left bar, there's now an "All Themes" option. When you click on this button, you can browse themes in a larger, expanded gallery format. You can rate themes, view similar themes, and sort by Most Popular or Most Recent.  Theme OptionsRight above the "All Themes" link is a "Design Options" button. When you click here, you can edit various design options of your theme, like font, color, and font size for your site title, paragraph title, paragraph text, and links.  FavoritesThe first button, "Favorites," is a list of your favorite themes and most popular Weebly themes. Before you choose any of your favorites, we've added ours to the list to get you started. And any time you see a theme thumbnail, you can click on the star to favorite it. These have been our most requested features for a long time, and we're really excited to be able to show you a preview. If you're interested in testing these new features, go to beta.weebly.com. We just pushed out some new additions to the form element that we think you'll enjoy.  Predefined Options: When collecting information from your website visitors, you probably want to ask common questions like "How old are you?", "How satisfied are you?", or "Where are you from?". We added a new feature called "predefined options" that makes asking these questions really easy. With one click, you can have all the appropriate options added into your form. We'd hate for you to have to manually type out all 50 state names!  File upload field: Now you can accept file uploads from your website visitors! Just drag on the "file upload" field to a form and you can instantly be accepting pictures, documents, or whatever you wish through your website. Due to the space requirements of accepting a lot of file uploads from your website visitors, we've made this feature available to our pro account members. We hope you enjoy these updates! Just in time for Christmas, we have a holiday gift for you! We've just released new form building features that let you completely customize and build new forms, including contact forms, RSVP forms, surveys, or anything else you can dream up!  You'll see a new category under "More" called "Forms". Here, we've added a Contact Form, RSVP Form and Survey Form. Once you've added one of these forms to your page, click it to start customizing it. Once you click on the form, you'll notice that the rest of the page fades away, letting you focus on the form you're working on.  The elements bar now contains the form fields that you can add to your form, including short and large text areas, option buttons, a dropdown box, checkboxes, a name field, an email field, an address field and a phone number field. You can add these fields to your form by dragging them on to the page.  There are several advanced options you can set, such as modifying the confirmation message a user sees after submitting a form, setting a special confirmation page, modifying the field instructions (a little box shown with instructions when the field is selected) and setting a field as required or not. You can also download the form entries as a .csv file, or view them right from within Weebly.  When you're done, publish your site! Your visitors will be able to fill out the form created, and their entries will be emailed to you and stored in Weebly to view and download later! We're still a small team, but we're working hard day and night to improve Weebly for you and help make creating a website fun, fast, easy, and free. You may have recently noticed a few updates to the photo gallery element. Now we offer you the option to add captions on your images or setup links to other pages or websites!  This feature is very easy to use -- just click on your photo gallery images in the editor and you'll see a few icons. The chain link icon is used to setup an image link and the text bubble icon is used to add a caption. The captions show when you're viewing the gallery images at full size or when hovering your mouse over the thumbnail. Check out the examples below and let us know what you think in the comments! After a quick consultation about what you need on your website, our design partners would go to town, building you a website worthy of an award. Once you're satisfied, the website would be transferred into your Weebly account so you can update it using the familiar Weebly editor. We're looking for a few volunteers who'd like to give this a try, for free. It's okay if you already have a website -- we can redesign it! For this pilot test, we're primarily in search of small business owners looking for a more professional website & design. We're only able to select a few volunteers for this opportunity, but in the future, this service will be available to everyone for a reasonable fee.
