We recently released a new feature: the ability to add photo galleries to your Weebly sites. You can now easily upload multiple photos at a time, quickly re-arrange them by dragging and dropping them into position, and choose exactly how you want them spaced and arranged.
You can find the new photo gallery under the "Multimedia" category, and we're excited about allowing you to better organize and display your pictures.
We also have been continuously improving the speed and stability of the Weebly editor, and have pushed quite a few minor enhancements and bug fixes.
Feel free to let us know what you think in the comments below. As always, thanks again for using Weebly!
Happy 4th of July! We'll be grilling some steaks, cooking some hot dogs and drinking a beer or two celebrating the United States' independence here in sunny San Francisco.
We're putting the final touches on a new feature to help you place and manage pictures on your Weebly website. After we test it and make sure that it doesn't break anything else, we'll be rolling it out to all users.
Stay tuned!
We're still getting a few emails from people who are wondering whether everything is back to normal, so I wanted to write a quick post letting everyone know that Weebly is completely functional -- and we're back to getting more than 1 hour of sleep a night.
Thanks again for everyone's support and understanding while we weathered this freak occurrence.
We've taken drastic measures to make sure this never happens again, and you can rest easy knowing that we'll continue working to remain the most reliable and best free web site creation service out there for a long time to come.
Note: We've turned publishing back on. If your site isn't coming up, please log-in and republish your site.
At about 11pm PST on Mon June 30th, one of the hard-drives on one of our storage systems broke down. This doesn't happen very often, but we're prepared to deal with the situation if it should arise. However, approximately 15 minutes later, another drive failed, causing one of the storage systems to go offline.
We've been dealing closely with the manufacturer of the device to bring it back online. In the meantime, we began restoring the affected sites from backup, as a temporary measure. As a result, some sites were unavailable from 11pm PST on June 30th until approximately 3pm PST, July 1st.
At 3:30pm PST on July 1st, about 30 minutes after we restored service to the affected sites, another hard drive failed on the device. Three failures from brand new, premium hard drives in such a short time-space is absolutely unheard of, but we've replaced the drive and expect to be fully operational by 7:45pm PST.
In the meantime, we've restored interim service to all Pro sites. Dan will be able to handle emergency requests to restore sites -- please email him at dan@weebly.com if you need to have your site restored before 7:45pm.
We're as upset as you are about this monumental failure of hardware, which has been beyond our control. You can rest assured that none of your data has been lost, and we fully expect to restore service to all affected sites by 7:45pm PST.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at david+o@weebly.com and I will respond promptly.
UPDATE: During the restore process, another drive failed. We anticipate another 6 hours of recovery time for the affected sites due to this set back. If you have any immediate needs, please contact us and we can restore your site ASAP.
We are removing and completely replacing all of the original 15 Seagate hard drives from the affected storage system, and will be following up with the manufacturer with some serious questions.
Thanks again for your support while we work round-the-clock to restore service.
UPDATE 2: We've re-enabled publishing. If your site isn't coming back, you can fix it by logging in and republishing.
On Tuesday we released a new version of Weebly with over 150 individual bug fixes and enhancements, and two very exciting features: Weebly pro accounts and Google AdSense integration.

Weebly pro accounts come with quite a few new features, including password-protected pages, the ability to remove the Weebly footer (the one line of text at the bottom of your pages that says "Website created with Weebly"), the ability to upload files larger than 5 MB, an audio player and the ability to create up to 10 sites per account.
We're also offering premium support, which means that your support request will be answered first, before any others.
Several of you have been asking us how you can help support Weebly's ongoing development, and this is the perfect way to do that. For anybody who purchases a pro account: Thank you!

We also released Google AdSense integration as part of the standard Weebly free service. It's an extremely simple way to add AdSense to your pages: Just drag and drop it on!
Complete the short form and click "Sign up", and you'll be set up with an AdSense account that's already completely configured. You can choose between the ad formats you want to show and different colors for the ads. (If you already have an AdSense account, you can associate it)
You'll also be able to make money from your site! We split the revenue with you 50/50.
These are two of the most important features that are part of the new release, but there are over 150 fixed bugs and other enhancements -- you'll probably notice that a lot has changed.
We're already working hard and excited about the next set of features. We appreciate all of your feedback, and thanks again for using Weebly!
Note: The instructions below only apply to people who have published their Weebly site using Option C: I already own a domain.
We're in the processing of moving hosting providers within the same colocation facility to one that is more reliable and better equipped to handle our growing needs. This is great news for every Weebly user, as we'll be able to continue providing reliable service well into the future.
On the other hand, our old host has informed us that they are moving as well. Since our IP addresses won't be available much longer, that means that everybody who has set up a custom domain will need to change their A records. We really apologize for any inconvenience this might cause, and promise that you won't have to do this again.
We've just finished sending out an email with complete instructions to all users that have chosen "Option C, I already own a domain". If you didn't receive the email or have any questions, please email support@weebly.com.
To clarify: If you've purchased a domain through us, there's no need to worry! We're making these changes for you. If you set up your existing domain through Weebly, please follow the instructions in the email and change your domain's A record to our new IP address: 65.49.35.140
Thanks again for using Weebly, and please keep sending us your suggestions and feedback!
Happy Memorial day from sunny San Francisco!
The official t-shirt contest is now closed, and we're in the process of choosing a set of winners, so if you haven't heard back from us yet, that's why!
Chris has also been working extremely hard to keep things running smoothly. The good news is that we've added a ton of equipment and picked up another rack, so things should continue to run smoothly well into the future!
We're getting ready to move into an office, and we are looking for another talented hacker and also a full-time designer. We haven't put up the listings on our jobs page yet, but if you're interested, please email jobs@weebly.com. Update: The listings are now on the jobs page.
We've also been hard at work on a couple new features that we're really excited about. We'll be releasing those within the next 2 weeks, as well as fixing a bunch of bugs, so stay tuned.
As always, we really appreciate your feedback and your continued support. We're constantly working to make things better for you (literally, about 14 hours a day). Thanks for using Weebly, and please let us know if there's anything we can do better!
We're nearing the last week in the Weebly T-shirt design contest! All submissions are due on April 15th. For a quick refresher on the rules and prizes, here's our last blog post.
I also wanted to put up a couple submissions we received that we've liked. This should give you a better idea of what we're looking for in a t-shirt design. Both of the artists behind the submissions have also included color variations in their designs.
Both of the designs below are for the front of the T-shirt.

Keep the good designs coming, and good luck to everybody participating!

Even though this is a bit of a belated welcome, we still wanted to write a post to welcome Greg to the team. Greg is the newest Weebly, and joined us in early January. Before joining Weebly, Greg also worked on Snipshot, which is a really cool way to edit your images online. We're super excited to have him working with us, and he's already made huge contributions to the team.
On another note, we've just fixed another round of bugs, so things should be running more smoothly. Dan got a bit backlogged on support, but he's just about caught up now, so you should be getting a prompt response from us on any questions you might have.
We'll be rolling out some of the most requested features over the next few weeks, so be sure to check this blog for announcements. We're really excited that so many of you are using Weebly, and we're working hard to make it better for you! As always, we really appreciate your feedback (it helps us figure out how you use Weebly), so please keep it coming!
