Today is an exciting day.  For the past few months, we’ve been hard at work building an amazing set of features to make your sites more powerful, more professional, and more effective than ever before.  Now, we get to show you what we’ve been working on!

This release includes both an awesome set of improvements to the Pro package as well as great updates for free users. In January, we’ll also be making some changes to our plans and pricing so be sure to read below for details.

New Features

HD Video (Pro)

We’ve enhanced our video element to encode in true HD quality for stunning clarity. We’ve also increased the limit from 100MB to 1GB, allowing up to 30+ minutes of HD quality video. Videos play in HTML5 and are fully compatible for playback on mobile devices and iPads. Check out the player in action as we show you all the exciting features we’re launching today.

Picture
Site Search (Pro)

Site search helps your visitors quickly find the information they need.  The results display beautifully right within the theme of your site.

You can enable the search box in your website header or drag & drop a search box directly into your site. Whenever a change is made to your content, these changes are immediately indexed into the search results.

Picture
Header Slideshows (Pro)

Add a slideshow to your header to showcase what’s important to your visitors in an interactive and professional way. Our new header slideshow editor is incredibly intuitive, supporting a variety of impressive transition effects as well as captions and linking on each slide.

Want to see the header slideshow in action?  Check out the top of this page!

Picture
Custom Footers (Pro)

To date, your footer only supported a single line of text, but with our new custom footer feature, it becomes a drag & drop region allowing for a huge range of possibilities. You can create a minimalist footer with a simple copyright message or build a more advanced footer with links to important pages, social media icons, your company’s logo, or a contact form.

Social Icons Element (Free & Pro)

Our new Social Icons element can be placed into the content and footer areas of your site, complementing the social icons already visible in your header. And we’ve tripled the selection of social icons available, adding popular services like Pinterest, Google+, Flickr, and email.
Embedded Documents (Now a Free Feature!)

The Embedded Document element has always been a feature of Pro, but today we’ve made it available to everyone!  Use it to display documents directly in your website, such as a resume or menu.

Upload Larger Files

We’re happy to now support larger file uploads. The file size limit for Free users has been increased from 5MB to 10MB and the limit for Pro users has been increased from 100MB to 250MB!

We’re super excited to get all these features into your hands. If you’ve been thinking about upgrading to Pro, there’s never been a better time than now!

Paid plan changes coming on January 7th

We wanted to give you a heads up on some changes we will be making to our plans and pricing early next year to support the new Pro features added today.

Most importantly, current Pro customers will not be affected. Your service will be grandfathered, and all Pro features -- including the new ones announced today -- will remain at the current price, including future renewals.  You’ve supported us since the early days, and we greatly appreciate that. Thank you!

Our goal is to give you the best way to create a high-quality and effective site that you’re proud of. The plan changes in January reflect the increased power (and additional cost) of all features just released, and will ensure that we can continue to make Weebly even more powerful than it is today.

Here are the details of what’s coming:

New Plans
We are adding a new entry-level plan, Starter, priced similar to our current Pro plan (around $4/month). Starter will contain a subset of the current Pro features, and the price of the Pro plan will be ~$8/month. If you are a current Pro customer, your price will remain unchanged.

10 Sites for All Accounts
Today, free users are limited to 2 sites. Going forward, all accounts will be able to build 10 sites. The site limit for free users (including existing free users) will be increased from 2 sites to 10.

Starter/Pro per Site
Starter and Pro will be offered on a per site basis instead of per account. All users that are upgraded to Pro before January 7th will maintain 10 Pro sites per account.

Free Users: Upgrade now before January 7th
Free account users who upgrade before January 7th will lock in the full set of Pro features at the current price, including 10 Pro sites per account. If you’ve been thinking about upgrading to Pro, you’ll definitely want to take advantage of this window.
If you have specific questions about your account that we haven’t addressed here, email us at support@weebly.com.

And last but not least, we’d like to wish everyone a very happy holidays! We're thrilled to close out 2012 with such a big update and even more excited about what we have in store for 2013!

Any chance we could edit the way sites appear in mobile? I love the way your service works on normal browsing, but mobile just looks like a stack of items on a long scroll bar. Needless to say, anyone who browses on mobile will bounce from my site. Mobile is a rapidly growing part of the market, and I'd really appreciate a feature which would let us edit and change the appearance as seen on mobile devices.

Brian, we are definitely working on that! Stay tuned :)

Hi David - absolutely astonishing! Glad I started and stuck with Weebly. You and you team have been fantastic.

Editable mobile? Exactly what is needed!

A more competitive Designer platform? Ditto.

All we need now is a capacity to make backups - even if just within Designer - so we can recover in the event of catastrophe.

What we'd then have is a truly world-beating, leading edge professional tool and, frankly, we wouldn't need anything else.

Keep it coming!

I am amazed of how easy this site is to make good, i may not be there yet but already people are thinking it much have cost a lot and when i say nothing they cant believe it. Keep up the great work and i will be adding more subscribers to your growing database as i am totally on board on what you do.

Have a great xmas and brilliant 2013.

Mobile editor is what they are working on next in their next Big release. I would cross your fingers as to the cost of this extra mobile option. Seems like another way to get more money from you...but with the current price increase of 1677 percent, I think that the price for mobile editor is built in. Assumes, going from fifty bucks per year for pro account for ten sites to $960 for ten pro sites.

Duda mobile offers something cool to convert your existing site to a mobile site, but it has limitations. If the editor was built into the current weebly editor...and allow you to not have two sites, that would be a huge plus.

I am not a fan of sites like Fiddlefly.com, even though they offer some cool software, but who wants to maintain two websites for the same business? Most companies offering mobile design are overpriced and require you to have two sites.

Check out mob.is.it as they have a nice white label option, but they too are a bit pricey and you have to manage two sites.

Any chance that we can have the site in bilingual by easy clicking the icon on top of the page to switch between the language? Thanks.

12/21/2012 1:30am

Any timescales for the mobile improvements? This is only going to be an ever-increasing demand so it will be important to us all.

By the way, love the additions, especially slideshow in header bar - I requested this some time ago and now can stop having to introduce my own code for my customers - I prefer vanilla versions for them to manage rather than screw up my code. This will stop many headaches! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Any chance of getting passwords for individual pages instead of site-wide passwords. Even better if we had user logins and a manageable repository of users/passwords with designated landing pages for individual users.

Keep up the great work! I'll be renewing my pro subscription a.s.a.p.

I am having a problem. The footer color differs form the background color and it really doesn't looks nice, It looks very odd. Please see this image here.-------- http://i45.tinypic.com/2vx0q2x.jpg

love my site, works well for me, lots of compliments.

Yes! An IPad app and a more depth in the preset templates (shadows,etc...) would be helpfulness! thanks Weebly!

Does the change in Pro per account vs Pro per site mean that it's $8/month per site now? and for the grandfathered users $4/per site per month?

12/28/2012 8:21am

Will the new features appear automatically as I use Weebly Pro? (I currently use them through iPage.) If not, how do I go about installing them?

Am loving Weebly's ease of use as we "grow" our website!

12/28/2012 6:54pm

Not to sound too uninformed but do all mobile devices display the websites the same? Is there a way to see how all devices show our weebly sites? With so many people switching to handheld devices, need to make the best impression possible. Heard an estimate that 75% of cellphone users will use device for web. Any beta converter ready yet? That way we could just click and see how the website displays on iphone or any other small device.
thanks

Dear weebly how can i extend in more than 10 sites?

01/06/2013 9:32am

Ditto Brian, the weebly iphone optimised site is not up to the mark, i have to switch it off for all my clients as they hate it. If they could nail that, it is the icing on the cake. I can handle the fonts, but that for me is a big problem with the mobile market.

12/12/2012 4:25pm

gud call Brian - ditto on the Mobile upgrade. And thanx for the excellent improvements 2 Weebly guys; well done. Power to the People - I luv it.

12/12/2012 5:02pm

Agree with Pete too... THANKS to you all at Weebly for the cool new features!!! I'm gonna nerd out tonight on my website 4 sure ;) Love the idea of being able to change the fonts on the individual page links too, etc. If possible, could you maybe make this possible one day??? Smiles 2 U, Chantelle

12/12/2012 4:50pm

I am asking Santa for a special gift this year. Here is my Dear Santa letter I mailed him last week.
Dear Santa, Will you have Weebly add a feature where we are able to change the fonts on each individual paragraph, word, or letter.
And have them either add some awesome fonts, and/or allow us to add our own fonts to our own website so we can choose & use the fonts that best fits our needs.

Thanks Santa.
PS: Tell Weebly that I've been good this year. Well most of the year anyways. And tell them thanks for me.

Sincerely Robb Phillips. 3 year pro Weebly user

Weebly, thanks for the new awesome upgrades. Good Christmas gift to us all.

12/12/2012 5:24pm

Robb, I've been good too! I would love to change the font and individual letters on my blog to draw the reader's eye.

12/12/2012 9:38pm

Robb, I have been requesting this for my Planet Jackson website for years. I'm sure they have the capability, but I've gotten replies that it isn't necessary--it totally IS! This would really enhance the custom look and feel of the site if we could change fonts. Sometimes you just want a line or a headline to really pop. So Weebly development team: pretty please! Otherwise high five on the new changes!

12/13/2012 2:30am

Choice of different fonts on same page would be great. Extends our design and creative options. Also vertical rules to divide columns would good also. Weebly, I'm sure you will get us there soon! Greetings from England.

12/13/2012 9:15am

Definitely agree with the font and color changes--more flexibility makes a huge difference in site appearance and ease of reading pages!!

12/13/2012 11:23am

Could not agree more!!! I needed this feature yesterday for a site I am moving to Weebly! Please add. All the features are great, BTW!!!

12/13/2012 4:35pm

I like your letter to Santa Robb. I agree about the fonts of the individual paragraphs, and I just started!

Will
12/14/2012 9:44am

If you use the Edit HTML/CSS tab on the design page you can create multiple custom font divs. Then just use the HTML box on your page to insert. Not the easiest way, but once you set up your custom divs it's easy to insert.

12/15/2012 11:10am

Oh my gosh YESS!! Bump up for this! This is really my only pet peeve about the software. It's already amazing but this would make it even more amazing :) This is going on my Christmas list to Santa as well :D

Thanks for the awesome upgrades guys! Keep up the good work!

12/17/2012 9:50am

I agree with this request. I find it very frustrating that I cannot use more fonts on my website and it makes everything look 'the same'. Hard when you're trying to do a special promotion, for instance, that you want to stand out and not want to imbed a document to keep everything searchable. I really look forward to getting this change SOON!

12/17/2012 4:58pm

weebly, PLEASE do not make it easy to change up fonts as requested above. i already have to go in and fix the messes my clients make of their sites. if they were able to easily add multiple fonts per site, that would 1) make their website look horrible, and 2) create a lot of work for me.

thank you, weebly, for making it easy to look good! keep up the good work!

12/19/2012 11:58am

Hi Robb, you can use an HTML part to get what you need. Minimal HTML and CSS knowledge is required (you can learn all you need from the w3school website).

Just my 2 cents worth.

Regards
Paul

12/20/2012 1:08am

I might suggest looking into Adobe's typekit for working with text, its a great tool for bringing in other fonts. Free for all adobe creative cloud users. I use it on my site to bring in minion pro for my paragraphs.

12/21/2012 5:16am

Yes, yes, yes! To the ability to customize fonts by section, by page, even by word. PLEASE! We maintain many small business 'sub-pages' and hate that their fonts are linked to our overall site font choices. This would be such a welcome change.

12/26/2012 7:59am

You can already change your fonts and colours in css. It doesn't take a lot of knowledge to change it. I know it would be nicer to have it right at your fingertips but if you like to change today. There is a way. Happy 2013!

12/29/2012 5:17pm

Yes please some new fonts. Ditto what others are saying. I am trying to use color because of only same font, but now looks cheesey, and childlike. Please! Otherwise quite happy.

I am excited about the new features starting 2013. Weebly have allowed me to learn how to build my website as an amateur and understand the process so that I can grow to the more technical features without an expensive price. Weebly, web-builder, afforded me the chance to create and learn at the same time. Thanks guys keep up the good work.

12/13/2012 4:16am

Yes, the changes mentioned should be appear on mobile also and weebly should allow us to customize mobile app for the website as well.

12/13/2012 9:13am

Not sure if you employ a (or you, yourself are a) developer, but have you considered modeling your site templates in a responsive way? Though, for non-developer users, editing the "mobile version" would be nice, it would save you a lot of trouble from having to edit two user experiences. I have recently tested a few responsive and also parallax templates on Weebly to start prepping my site for this, and they have passed each necessary desktop browser and mobile device tests. Just wanted to share...

Does anyone know, is it possible to load up powerpoints ? I'd love to let my students access the powerpoints used in class. Any ideas!

edoherty
12/13/2012 11:18am

Hi serna40, You could try saving the slide show as images (Save As > jpeg in PowerPoint). It will ask if you want to save a single slide or all. If you choose all it converts all the slides into image files and puts them together in a folder that has the same name as the PowerPoint presentation. You could then upload the images as a slide show into the site. Just one way to do it...

12/15/2012 6:43am

I save all of my Powerpoint presentations via http://box.com, then add them to my site using the embed code provided. Super simple.

http://site.ap-ushistory.com/blog.html

12/15/2012 3:48pm

Or simply add them as links

12/19/2012 9:13am

Thanks very much edoherty I'll try that on the 9/11 site as well. S

12/21/2012 7:18am

thanks all for ideas, and Weebly for great technology and upgrades...as to posting PP slidesets, I pdf them, then shrink for super fast loads. One Weebly website I built for a client hosts 75 of these faculty pdf'ed PowerPoints.

12/13/2012 3:18pm

I discovered something by accident on this. Same thing happened with my web, it was mangled on the mobile. Especially when I got creative with my cell colums it would scroll oddly out of order.

Try this!! Go into edit for your site. Go to settings (tab at top) this takes you to the enable Mobile check box. If its checked - UNCHECK THIS BOX. For some reason after doing this it appears wonderfully normal on mobile devices!!!

I hope this works for you. Happy Holidays!

Marcia

Very creative & smart advice, thanks! Unchecking the "enable mobile" box definitely worked.

Hey guys, I manage a huge site with nearly 100 pages. Any chance we could get collapsable page navigation in the Pages part? That is what is killing us right now. Thanks.

12/18/2012 12:50pm

I do agree with the desire to enable a longer nav-list down the left side. That would be the only improvement I would request (see Jesse above)' Otherwise I just wish to praise Weebly to the heavens. Thankyou all you W-guys.

Susan
12/21/2012 8:48am

My site has many pages also, and it is cumbersome to find the page to edit. I would suggest folders or some way to organize this that isn't just a long list.

Kevin
12/21/2012 12:02pm

Here here! This is very important to me too. Collapsible page navigation would be nice. I do an awful lot of repetitive scrolling to manage my pages.

Also, it would be nice if "copied" pages didn't appear at the very bottom of the stack. Odds are that the copied page is intended to appear as a sub-page. Would be nicer if copied pages appeared immediately below the page that was copied, not at the bottom.

Deanna
12/24/2012 7:11pm

I agree... I am building a new website for a funeral home and they have nearly 20 pages, but just having a "more" tab to reflect the additional pages is not very professional or efficient. I would love to have a collapsable page navigation as well.

Thanks for the comment Jesse.

12/14/2012 2:58pm

Great update guys, but I have a few suggestions.

You guys really need have a share button for all of the major social sites. Either a clickable on/off function to automatically add share buttons to the bottom of blogs and pages or a drag and drop function.

Also, there isn't a facebook comment plugin available that automatically goes to the bottom of blogs. This is important because when someone comments on a site, it automatically posts to their facebook wall. Promotion. Websites grow because of organic promotion. Having no facebook comment functionality completely hinder that from happening in this way. That is a big deal breaker. The only solution to this problem that weebly offers at this point is to go in and manually add the html code. Your html interface is quite confusing and your help section about it doesn't help. You may say, "it's not that confusing" or "you could hire a programmer." But people pay for drag and drop services for two major reasons. Amazing pre-designed templates and they don't want to do the coding themselves. That's your customer base. They sign up for free, realize that they dig your service, then you upsell them to a pro service. So when technical support recommends that someone makes changes in the html section, that creates frustration and buyers remorse; thus negative word of mouth. You charge around $70 for a year and Wordpress charges $99. It's only a 20 dollar difference and they don't refer people to the html section. They offer loads of plugins and functionality that is currently in demand and essential to 2012 and beyond success.

If you are competing with wordpress, you really need to work these issues out. Because you're probably losing pro customers as you read this.

Also, the shopping cart, e-commerce functions that you offer are sub-par at best. Volusion, Big Commerce and Shopify are crushing you guys in this depart. The reason why I bring this up is because if a person wants to build an e-commerce store, they quickly realize that weebly is not capable of doing this in a way that competes with the with stores that you can build with other companies.

Lastly, the drag and drop reservations function that you offer is complete garbage. Obviously designed by a novice who doesn't update his website. When someone tries to use this, frustration quickly sets. If that is a part of their initial perception within the first few days, again... buyers remorse.

The big questions that I pose to the weebly team are this:

1) Are you guys an e-commerce/retail store building service? If so, that options that you offer are not superior, nor priced competitively for what you offer.

2) Also, do you just want to be a small time drag and drop blog building site, or do you want to become a monster in the industry? If you want to be a premium service that that receives premium payment, then you need more functionality that is currently in demand and you need it yesterday.

I hope someone reads this and takes action.

Sincerely,
Jason

12/15/2012 12:15am

I Agree Jason. weebly need further improvements. I tough that my pc was the cause. drag and drop can be a frustrating experience especially when you are trying to do quick face lift to you site.
Take action weebly. Unhappy customers.. you know what they do.
Get it right guys.

12/18/2012 8:13am

I agree Jason. I would love to see recognition of more social networking sites such as tumblr, pinterest, myspace (it's making a comeback), and so on. Having a comment feed for facebook would be fantastic.

Sometimes drag and drop can be frustrating due to Weebly glitches that cause freezes and strange placement.

The CSS/HTML editing section is also not intuitive and the "explanations" are not all that helpful for novices.

I do like the option to integrate new page types--LOVE the splash page.

I would love to see a choice of options for forums and other plug ins. I have used Nabble for my site PlanetJackson.net. It was ok, but left something to be desired. Talki is a slight improvement, but I would like a choice of options that integrate seamlessly with Weebly.

12/19/2012 8:59am

why not add some thing really useful, and have a built in paypal feature? all other sites like mine do!

12/27/2012 5:47am

I don't think Weebly wants to compete with specialized blogging or e-commerce platforms. Weebly is a tool to create a basic website very easily. The blog is an added bonus and features a decent commenting function. If you change to Wordpress or Shopify you'll soon realize that these guys are not that great when it comes to building a simple website for a low price.

@Jason:

I am agree with Mr. Arthur. Actually, weebly is for simplicity and personal website instead of big businesses and I think weebly want to continue this type of business for themselves instead of being BigPress. But Weebly blog still needs several improvements. I want that blog page shouldn't reload when someone wants to comment. and facebook integration is really helpful for it.

We are always with you! It is my 4th year with Weebly and slowly slowly like turtle and rabbit race, it is growing and will win too.

Weebly I and my Team are with you! Go on!

We are always with you! It is my 4th year with Weebly and slowly slowly like turtle and rabbit race, it is growing and will win too.

12/30/2012 2:20pm

A little harsh I might say. The whole idea of Weebly being a MONSTER, you pay more, compete with WORDPRESS. None of those reasons are why I have my weebly account. I was at WIX. where they are trying to be the Monster and do everyone for everybody and charge alot more. There quality is steady declining in the service delivery department. Keep growing Weebly you are doing fine.

12/15/2012 12:06am

ya right Brian, have similar problems. and tempted to look elsewhere. Weebly need to adjust to the market demands or else. no need tosay names but been there to check quality, but the prices are so high. so weebly should balance between the two. Vast maekrt are opening so look further WEEBLY. Mobile apps...

12/23/2012 2:10pm

Not all Weebly customers are interested in or willing to pay for lots of services that we have no need for. I am writer/editor of my own ethics-politics site. It is not a blog, so that sort of site does not work for me. I do not do "e-commerce" so I do not need that sophistication. I do not use I-pads or other mobile devices, and my readers to not need them for my site. I do not use video, because it is irrelevant to what I do. I want quality, but I want simple and inexpensive. I support my site myself as a retirement activity. In your desire to be "big" please do not forget this class of customers that can't charge off expenses to business deductions.

I like how user friendly Weebly is and the new additions, nice work everyone. But, I agree, the mobile appearance needs some work.

12/16/2012 10:06am

I used to use the Embedded Document feature a lot and love it but it does not render on iPads because of Flash, so I don't use it now - any chance this will be changed?

Weebly
12/18/2012 5:46pm

We're working with Scribd (the company responsible for the embedded document element) to make this change. Look for it to happen in the new year.

12/18/2012 9:24am

I'd love this too. Am working hard to get it on to mobile format as I've been asked by lots people, its taking me a while. My 9/11 site is mostly accessed from France.

Thanks to Weebly for a great product.

12/18/2012 10:49am

+ on that!

12/18/2012 8:38pm

I agree with Brian. I'm also waiting for editable mobile feature.

12/19/2012 9:52am

I'm afraid we need new and more up to date templates / design etc as the likes of Wix are well ahead on that side and offer much more re features in edit mode

01/02/2013 7:13am

Here at JFigPhotoDesigns we design custom Weebly Themes and so much more... Visit us and see the new templates all working with the easy click and drag Weebly system! And with about 10 right now, and added about 5-10 a week we will soon have a massive selection!

Hey weebly team,

Great work guys and thanks for keeping the pricing same for your old customers. It would be great of you could add username password authetication to your feature list.

On the large slideshow, theres a black line going down the right hand side, and a blue line going down the left hand side of your second page in your slideshow.
Also, would you be able to make any price reductions for buying a custom URL (.com instead of .weebly.com?)
Lastly, I have 8 sites just for 'fun', and two business sites, can I just pay for those two sites to be pro accounts, and not all 10?
Great update by the way, weebly!

12/29/2012 8:15am

Kaz, I'm not from the Weebly Team, but, I think come the threshold 7 January 2013, I think it's a case of paying for what you use if you become a starter or pro customer after that date. For instance, if you want to keep all 10 sites then you would have to pay for them or just pay for how many you want to use.

If you're already a pro customer prior to 7 Jan then you get all your 10 sites included in your monthly subscription. If you're a free user before or after the threshold date you continue to have access to your 10 sites. At least that's how I see it!

Hi realise this is probably not a direct Weebly question, but I've been battling with adding Google Analytics to my site all Christmas and it does not seem to track anything. I think I have the code in the right spot. Anyone else figure it out? Thanks and

Another problem with mobile is weebly still hasn't made phone numbers clickable. People browsing on phones expect this feature.

01/09/2013 7:01am

It sounds like fun. We can enjoy this for our updates on our sites!

Def want a signup system so I could capture visitor's email addresses after they sign up in order to send my email marketing materials.

01/02/2013 5:07am

We use an intergrated MailChimp form on our site to capture emails for our marketing. MailChimp provideds the HTML code and you copy it into Webbly - very simple!

12/13/2012 3:10am

Completely agree, that would be fantastic.

Jane
12/13/2012 5:42am

Brilliant new add ons thank you.
A login system would be wonderful as I'm struggling to use Weebly for one of my sites due to inability for customer log in.

Steve
12/13/2012 4:08pm

I agree, a registration/login system would be fantastic. The single site password is really no security at at. The ability to provide your users to register and signin to your site is the way to go. You would still have the ability to leave some pages/content open for the WORLD to see, but every organization needs to be able to restrict certain info just to their members/employees.

Everyone who believes the same should contact Weebly and let them know!

12/13/2012 7:06pm

Hey there... thanks for all the awesome updates! You guys are constantly at work and it shows. I agree with Jane and would also like to see a way to have a customer login. I am currently using Sentry Login right now, which is alright, but far from what I'm looking for. I know that you guys could do a better login than them!

12/13/2012 10:33am

I also would love to see a member login system. I'd especially like a system where my users could subscribe to premium content areas on my site, and to have differently priced subscription tiers - one month, three months, etc.

Joe
12/14/2012 9:22am

A login site where I can track users would be the "cat's meow". I will try sentry for now. Thanks Weebly for the upgrades, great features added to an already fantastic platform.

12/14/2012 11:55am

I agree, a registration/login system would be fantastic. Ireally love all of the updates as well, also I would really love to be able to have a size selection tab and color tab and how many tab on the products and then add to cart. If this is already possible can someone tell me how to do this. I will greatly appreciate it. Thank you Weebly for creating such an easy to use Web design for us!! I love Weebly

Paul Mathews
12/13/2012 2:16pm

Satish, for $5 per month, you could try Sentry Login which apparently integrates nicely with Weebly. Will probably be giving this a go with a client site in the coming weeks. Check it out: http://www.sentrylogin.com

12/16/2012 6:30am

Glad I stumbled on this content -- great idea. Only issue I see here is that it doesn't integrate with a mailing list, so you have all these members but can't talk with them. I would recommend bringing them directly to a mailing list sign-up form after they become a member, then let them know that they don't have to be a list member, but it's the only way you'll be able to notify them of what's happening on the site.

I wonder if another membership option integrating with Weebly would integrate with some of the big list providers automatically.

12/19/2012 7:47am

These features would bring many more opportunities. Currently, I have a non-profit that wants sign up and login capabilities. That would be nice, for sure.

Bob Square Pants
12/19/2012 6:12pm

You can use sentry login it is compatible with weebly. Weebly does not have immediate plans to release any member areas.

12/20/2012 7:13am

When used for asynchronous training, it would be helpful if each participant could somehow track where they left off. Maybe a login system would help.

L. Willson
12/20/2012 11:55am

I'd love that too! I have to use Squarespace at work to have that function, but I'd far prefer to be with Weebly. Great changes Weebly! You offer amazing value.

12/12/2012 4:00pm

Hi, on the mobile version could you work on formatting it so I can view and edit more of my site than my blog? Thanks!

Christy
12/13/2012 12:59am

I agree with K.H. I'd love that app if it could it is a pain not being able to update the sites I work on on my iPad at all, I manage a couple other sites their owners want me to use wordpress for them, and I can do most of the editing I need on those sites from my iPad, but not the ones I manage here.

12/13/2012 7:20am

I am sooooooo happy to see the new footer. While working on 3 different sites I had been playing with the flex footer on my own. Sometimes I was doing good and then sometimes it made be crazy. Thank you so much for adding this feature in. It makes it so much easier to give the whole site a more uniformed appearance

This is great! I'm most excited for embedding documents! My students will easily be able to get Google Docs into their Weebly sites. AWESOME!

Any other changes coming to education accounts that I should be aware of? I'm assuming the changes for Free accounts will be included in Student accounts.

Thanks for being so wonderful.

12/12/2012 4:10pm

We can copy elements to other pages but not to the same page. When will you modify that so that we can copy elements to the same page without remaking the elements repeatedly? That would be a big help, thanks.

David Rusenko
12/12/2012 4:22pm

Andrew, thanks for the feedback. We'll add it to our list for our next release!

Phillip
12/12/2012 4:31pm

And how about enlarging the pop-up box for the copy/move function? It is too narrow to distinguish longer page titles and so short that it requires lots of scrolling for larger sites.

Thanks!

Scott
12/13/2012 10:07pm

You guys are a class act. Great service and very considerate to give a heads up on price change.

I agree, being able to copy to the same page is needed. Also the ability to add drop shadows to images and text would be a great improvement!

Thanks for being a classy company.

12/15/2012 4:10am

Great to hear that's coming (hopefully soon). That will be a real time-saver.

12/12/2012 5:08pm

If you copy the element to a hidden page, you can then copy it back into the first page. This will allow you to add it as many times as you like to the original page.

12/13/2012 5:41am

Thanks Sara!

Catherine
12/13/2012 7:51am

The copy/move box disappears below the bottom of the screen if the item you're trying to move/copy is too low on the page. I have to move the item up, copy/move, go back to the original page, move the item back down, go back to the copied/moved item and move it to where I want it. A tad annoying.

alabama360
12/13/2012 12:43pm

In addition, I could really use a repeating sidebar desperately!!!

12/13/2012 4:14pm

If you make a hidden "sidebar template" page and only put your sidebar on it (the multi-column element works great for dividing the page), then all you need to do is copy this page whenever you want a new page with the sidebar.

12/12/2012 4:17pm

Any chances of you wanting to promote a social enterprise? URAIDE is a not-for-profit, not-for-income social enterprise. Therefore would love to stick to your free category. However, I am admiring your efforts to with the Pro version. Just have a look and see if you wish to support the cause. I may then include weebly as a sponsor! 12/12/2012 4:23pm

Will there be any changes in pricing for the designer platform, or are the new prices limited to the regular version of Weebly?

David Rusenko
12/12/2012 4:34pm

Absolutely. We will actually be lowering the cost on the Designer Platform quite a bit. We will be eliminating the two highest cost plans so only the lowest one remains, and removing all page & storage limits.

We haven't finalized everything yet, but we will share more details when we have them!

12/12/2012 4:53pm

Great job folks.

12/13/2012 8:47am

it would be good, to pay a Annual Fee with pay pal, not all people love to pay with credit card, but my customers are happy to pay for a year
just like their customers.

Greetings from Germany

12/13/2012 11:34am

That has made me so happy, do you know when this will be happening? thanks.

12/13/2012 2:37pm

1. I'm in the uk, i pay a "over seas charge" is there anyway you can have a look at this?

2. As you say your removing limits like pages and storage limits for the designer platform, will you be letting us put limits on our clients?

3. As you said you are removing the two higher options on the designer platform, with the lower option at 7.95 will you be keeping this the same or lowering it?

Thank you, and sorry for all the questions

12/20/2012 11:00am

David, I am tickled pink with all the recent changes and the upcoming changes for Designer is just what I've been waiting for. Sooooo excited! My only other request for Designer is a white label "how to" manual I can give to clients when I train them on using and managing their site. This would be awesome and oh, so helpful!

Keep up the good work!

12/20/2012 5:11pm

An answer to my prayers! With all the all-you-can-eat for one monthly price web offerings out there it will be great for you to do the same thus allowing me to be more competitive and garner more clients. Plus at a low enough price I'm able to charge a little more giving me a residual monthly income in addition to my designing fees. It will also make it easier to answer those "Well if the pro account costs this and you get this how come I have to pay this monthly fee instead?" questions. Whew!

BTW. Although I haven't been using Weebly for a great length of time I absolutely love your platform to the point where I've moved from square space and am in the process of moving clients your way as well.
Thank you guys so much!
Peter

12/29/2012 7:28am

Is it possible for you to include the feature on your jobs page: http://www.weebly.com/jobs.php for us to use, it looks really neat and professional, the list with the button to see more, is there already something like this in Weebly?

Thanks!

Kaz
12/29/2012 7:28am

Has my message sent? :S

12/13/2012 11:41am

Oh, also, will be able to put limits on our clients so they can only use so much

12/12/2012 4:23pm

I just wanted to simply say thank you. You make having a website affordable for a small business owner. Again, thank you for providing a great product and service.

Respectfully,
Steven P. Holloway

12/12/2012 9:15pm

I agree wholeheartedly. Weebly is a great value and makes our web existence possible for a whole suite of businesses.

12/13/2012 4:36pm

I agree too, Weebly has given me so much freedom and I really appreciate the low cost of a Pro account as I work a lot with community groups and don't make an income from my sites. I used to use Ning but then they introduced charges and made the free account so limited that I haven't used it for a year or more even though I would like to as there is no-one to pay even the costs in some community group. But I love Weebly so hope that I won't get priced out of using it. Thank you x

12/12/2012 4:26pm

Awesome and thank you guys once again for the great support and service!

12/12/2012 4:26pm

The upgrades are awesome, especially the slideshow. I have been paying $ 45 just to get a slideshow, now its free with Weebly. I am going to upgrade the DiRossi cheese suppliers of Melbourne website with these new features. I will also upgrade www.SparklingDiamond.com.au I made with Weebly

Phillip
12/12/2012 4:27pm

Concerning the new Footer feature:

In the image above, you show a Footer with Social Medial Icons and a Form. I am unable to find either element when editing the Footer. The Social Media Icons do not appear anywhere as a drag/drop element and the Form element disappears once selecting the Footer. Where can they be found, to be inserted into the Footer?

David Rusenko
12/12/2012 4:39pm

Phillip, thanks for the heads up. Sometimes things get lost in the mix in a big launch like this. We've just put these elements live!

Katy
12/15/2012 4:04am

Love Weebly for the ease of drag & drop, the reasonable price and the results. Thanks for all the work. My question is about the new social media icons. I want to know if it's possible to display 2 Twitter icons for two separate accounts. Thanks again and Happy, Healthy New Year to you all.

12/12/2012 4:28pm

LOVE THIS! Thank you so much weebly!!!

12/12/2012 4:29pm

Nice changes! I really am happy I went through Weebly to build up my website, I definitely recommend it to friends who needs website.
Are you working on a feature that would allow to wrap paragraph around video? Like what we can see on the news website, where they put some video sequences of interview and reports throughout the article. I mix animation and text on my website, so I'd like to be able to do that :)

12/12/2012 4:29pm

12/12/2012 4:33pm

A lot of great new changes!! Thanks Weebly!!
However...I am unable ti figure out how to put a contact form in my footer at buttom of pages?
No conplaints!! Fantastic efforts, we are totally happy with our Weebly Pro. Thanks guye...and gals

That should be working now. If you're still having trouble, please send the details to support@weebly.com so we can take a look.

12/12/2012 4:51pm

I've just checked out the upgrades.

LOVE them.

Thank you.

12/12/2012 4:55pm

Great news! I will be renewing my subscription for sure, what a great bargain. I look forward to making my BiotechDueDiligence website even better

12/12/2012 5:02pm

You guys rock! Thanks for all your hard work, you make my job as a webpage designer easy and make my sites look good!

Gazz
12/12/2012 5:05pm

Thanks Weebly ~ there is no better :)

12/12/2012 5:05pm

Thank you for coming up with new changes. Will there be any change to the white label pricing? I wish you would reduce it.

David Rusenko
12/12/2012 5:06pm

Durga, we will be doing exactly that. Please see my comment above for more details.

12/12/2012 5:07pm

Looks like part of my Christmas presents will be to upgrade to weebly pro. The upgrades are great.

12/12/2012 5:11pm

will you be updating the features so we can place and re-size pics or whatever, anywhere on a page, instead of in predetermined "boxes"? that would be Great. Thank You

12/12/2012 5:17pm

Parabénssss!! Equipe Weebly.

Espero que os proxímos pacotes sejam tão bons quanto estes, tais como um funcionalidade e-comerce competitiva e um app para Android!!

Você são SHOWWW!
abs a todos

12/12/2012 5:18pm

Thank You !! I really like the new features! Can't wait to start upgrading my site. I get other companies always trying to give me deals to switch, But will not change because Weebly just keeps getting better and better. All the others just stay the same.

Real Happy with you!

Tanya
12/12/2012 5:25pm

Thank you so much Weebly!!! These new features are fantastic; I am so excited! And I will definitely be upgrading right away!

The only things that I really have a problem with with Weebly: all the space in between elements. It looks unprofessional and really hampers the way I want my websites to look. Also I can't layer elements so I can't put text on top of the background I want for a particular element like I can with the header. This is also unprofessional.

Any chance these two things will improve in the future?

Thanks again Weebly team!!!
Tanya

12/12/2012 7:26pm

I have to agree about the space between elements. I would love to tighten up the individual elements on my site.

Love the other additional a lot, I'm going to have to get to work.

alabama360
12/13/2012 1:00pm

Hey Tanya, I agree. I've been trying to find the CSS element that controls the spacing. No luck so far. Anybody got any ideas?

Kay
12/13/2012 3:31pm

I agree. Tightening up the space between elements would be wonderful.

12/17/2012 11:33am

Totally agree about the spacing issue. It would make the sites so much more professional looking if we could tighten things up a bit.

Mila
12/12/2012 5:27pm

Thank you for these wonderful new features! Thanks for letting us be "grandfathered in."

Thanks for a great product and incredible service! You guys are really amazing! Wishing you all a very happy holiday season!

12/16/2012 3:17pm

you guys helped me so much thank you! Next time I want to make a site I'm coming to you. p.s. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

12/12/2012 5:31pm

Thank you! Weebly!!!

12/12/2012 5:36pm

Nice work. I often get sour faces when I tell people I use weebly, but I really haven't had a reason not to.? Weebly may not provide everything I would like, but for the price and continued efforts, I have no regrets and continue to tell others about you.

12/12/2012 5:39pm

Wonderful improvements and agree with the Mobile comments above. One thing that I would love to see are sub-page numerical buttons from say 1-10, of the same page. This feature is so often seen on so many Sites. I am thinking about Site Developing at some point, and I just know that this will be requested by clients at some point: it being pretty much standardised throughout the Market..... Thoughts ?

p.s..... a very merry Christmas and prosperous New Year to all WEEBLES x

12/12/2012 5:40pm

The new social icons does not have Pinterest/youtube... I've added it, but only see facebook, twitter and 2 more.

12/12/2012 9:20pm

I have the same problem with my planetjackson.net site. For some time I have been able to add Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, and a Blog, but not any others. I can find the icons for the others in the CSS, but cannot add them.

I'm very excited about these changes and thank you for grandfathering us "pros" in.

12/13/2012 5:50am

When you click on the social networking icons, you should see an "Add more" button. Select the networks you want to add. Don't forget to fill in your address for each social network. This tutorial should help but if you're still having trouble, please e-mail support@weebly.com: http://kb.weebly.com/social-icons.html

12/13/2012 11:37am

same problem here using Chrome on a Mac when I click the add more I'm only offered the rss feed. Once I add that there is no more to select from. I see from the tutorial that there should be a drop down with a wider choice but that's not showing up. I'm sure it's just a roll out glitch that will be sorted soon.

The other options are still not showing. You are only offering Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and RSS even though the icon for your social sites has an image of Google Plus.

We are on most of these sites as well as others you don't offer like Tumblr and MySpace. Please have a closer look at this support request. I am not the only user with this issue.

12/18/2012 9:00am

Yes only Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and RSS i can.

12/19/2012 6:28am

hi weebly I like your Social Icons Element. Finally Weebly add this feature.

12/19/2012 7:12am

Social media is very useful to improve the quality of our blog.
Thanks for weebly to add Social Icons Element.

Janet Potts
12/27/2012 8:55am

Your http://kb.weebly.com/social-icons.html page is wrong. It clearly states there (and shows examples) that Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, RSS, Google+, Pinterest, Flickr, Vimeo, Yahoo, and YouTube are all options to add with the social media widget. However, as every one else here has stated, this is not the case. There are four options: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and RSS. So, is this feature actually fully implemented and the webpage is in error or is there a glitch in your system that is not showing the additional social media options? BTW, I've got a Pro account so would expect to see all the options.

12/12/2012 5:40pm

Love tahe search box. Am hoping please that you could add a view cart button and also a way to track inventory for when we sell products. Please check out my gift shop and tell me what you think. I love web designing, and hope I can bring in customers. That would be another great thing, to have a list of customers as they purchase from us. But I suppose that would raise the subscription. Anyway, I love weebly, and how we can pay every three months. Beats web.com paying about the same price monthly. This way I can set aside $5 a month to go toward my subscription. Blessings in Jesus, Mary

12/12/2012 5:40pm

Recently attended an 5 Day E-Learning Course at Hyderabad, India - I was given a chance to introduce Weebly there. The participants simply loved it. The were amazed at the ease at which I could 'drag and drop' elements. In fact, some of them might soon become Pro members. Thanks to the Weebly team for making my website more navigable, more exciting and more...everything!!! - Prem

12/12/2012 5:46pm

so in love with weebly!!!

12/12/2012 5:59pm

Hi Weebly how are you? Ty so much for all of your hard work on making Weebly Drag-And-Drop Website Creator, best ever!!! #KEEPUPGOODWORK!!! :-).

12/12/2012 6:02pm

Great new set of features, I look forward to implementing them to make the BiotechDueDiligence site even better. Just renewed my Pro subscription for 2 more years!

12/12/2012 6:02pm

THANK YOU....thank you.......thank you.

12/12/2012 6:07pm

Weebly is great! Awesome and beautiful features. Thanks be to God, we have friends at Weebly who cares so much.... and they continue to develop, grow and expand their services to us - the clients.

Congratulations guys.

12/12/2012 6:09pm

Thank you for the continual improvement to your product and features. I'm a big fan!!

12/12/2012 6:17pm

I'm a little too excited for the footer changes! I might have squealed or something. Also I just thought to add my own search box using the html feature lol Looks like I just needed to wait a few days.

You guys are always improving. I love that about Weebly. Thank you much! Well done, you guys!

Andre
12/12/2012 6:25pm

Great worl guys, thanks!

Have you ever consider to make a wishlist where users could participate for new developments?

I can get you started with my wishes:

- Translating feature so that we could built website in multiple languages
- Url editing, so that problems with caracters in page names stop existing. For example this page named "Instalações" gets the url http://www.centrodentariopediatrico.com/instalaccedilotildees.html and it should be "/instalacoes"
- Move websites between accounts
- Lower prices in Designer Platform

Thanks,

Andre
12/12/2012 6:27pm

Ups... just saw the "Vote for new features" button.
Sorry.. :)

12/13/2012 5:54am

Definitely check out our feature request page at http://www.weebly.com/editor/feature_request.php.

Here's a tutorial that explains how to set up a website in multiple languages: http://kb.weebly.com/multiple-languages.html

The URL issue is definitely something we're working on.

We can't move websites between accounts, but we can now break a website off to a brand new account. Just send a note to support@weebly.com and we can work that out with you.

See David's note above regarding Designer pricing changes after the first of the year.

12/12/2012 6:39pm

I am sooooooo happy to see the new footer. While working on 3 different sites I had been playing with the flex footer on my own. Sometimes I was doing good and then sometimes it made be crazy. Thank you so much for adding this feature in. It makes it so much easier to give the whole site a more uniformed appearance! Awesome Job Weebly!

12/12/2012 6:48pm

:) This is so great and wonderful! Thank you for bringing the updates/new features and for awesome customer service, every time I've needed you! I immediately went and enabled the search bar! I have noticed however, if I do a search for "Christmas" only 2 pages are returned in my search results. I have an entire page title "Christmas". That does not show at all. Are all keywords in the search bar feature working, or will this take some time to find all searched keywords? (If I need to email for support, I will.)
Again, thank you for all that you are doing, you guys are truly the best!

Michelle
12/12/2012 6:57pm

I have been with you guys for a while and was considering leaving. After seeing this today, I am so excited for the new features and whats to come. Just on the fact that you are letting us be grandfathered is so wonderful. I will forever be with you guys!

As you do new things, I hope that in the future we can make widgets with border options.

12/12/2012 7:00pm

LOVE the new additions! You Rock!! Thanks

12/12/2012 7:05pm

Thanks for the upgrades. It's an unexpected Hannukah gift.

Jase
12/12/2012 7:07pm

This is fantastic, Thank You Weebly!!!!

Nibbling, but not biting, at the bait
12/12/2012 7:07pm

"Starter and Pro will be offered on a per site basis instead of per account."

This statement definitely requires further explanation.

Will Weebly allow us to upgrade to Pro on a PER SITE basis?

If my account has one "production" site and some "test / just for fun" sites, I really would NOT be excited about paying $8 / month for the "test / just for fun" sites.

When does the $8 / month charge start? As soon as we click the "Publish" button?

David Rusenko
12/12/2012 9:54pm

This is a great question. Here is how it will work:

- First, this change will not affect you since you are already Pro. Everything will work exactly the same for you in the future.

- For new users who upgrade after January 7th, they will upgrade each site one by one. For each site that they would like Pro features on, that will cost $8/month. If you choose to upgrade 2 sites, that will cost $16/month.

- However, you will absolutely not be forced to upgrade all of your sites. You can still keep some sites free and some sites Pro.

Hopefully this addresses your questions, but please let me know if there's anything I can clarify.

Yez
12/12/2012 11:08pm

Now I pay about $48 per year ($4 per month) for 10 pro sites.
In the future, for new users, for the same: 10 pro sites; will cost $80 per month ($960 annual)
Is that really right??

Geez
12/19/2012 6:48pm

Yez...you are correct! You better go pro before Jan 7th because there will be a 1,677 percent price increase!

They are having a load of new features and this price increase will get those features faster. As far as value, I think that the new pricing does not offer value, but has a few more features and if they can keep adding new features at a high pace, nobody will complain. If things stay as is now...and you can not compete with wordpress at those higher prices...yes...people will not pay the higher prices.

This is a bold move by Weebly!

At least they grandfather the current pro users, Netflix raised prices on everyone and got a lot of bad press for it.

Go PRO! ASAP!

Yez
12/27/2012 6:22pm

@Geez
I'm already pro :P
I just had a hard time believe in the new pricing compared to the old ones.

12/12/2012 7:13pm

Any chance we might be able to set different passwords for different pages within a website?

Great upgrades btw. Thank you!

12/12/2012 7:15pm

loving the new features - particularly the new footer and slideshow header. To date I have been creating my own header slideshows. Looking forward to seeing what delightful surprises you have for us in 2013! xxx

alabama360
12/13/2012 1:13pm

Hey Rubi, what tool have you been using to do you header slideshows?

12/12/2012 7:34pm

ditto on the very first comment re the look on mobile - it's a real mess and ultimately a bad look and loss for business

12/12/2012 7:35pm

This is a GREAT Christmas present - as time allows we look forward very much to utilising many of these new features - thanks Weebly - glad to have been with you from day 1 of our web presence, we definitely made the right choice and will continue to recommend you right and left.

12/12/2012 7:43pm

Hi guys,

Is it just me or is embedding documents down at the moment? I can upload it but it never actually seems to upload. Thanks!

Joshua
12/12/2012 7:43pm

These new features are great...especially the built in search box! One problem I'm having is with file names in search results. I changed the file name on the download page after I uploaded the file, but it doesn't carry over to the search results. Most of the results show up as "(No Title"). Is there a way to fix this? Why can't it carry over the title from the download link? I think there should be a place to go where we can manage all of the files we have uploaded and rename them. Otherwise, my search results page is a huge mess. Thanks!

12/13/2012 5:57am

Can you send a note to support@weebly.com so we can take a closer look?

12/12/2012 7:48pm

Im sooooooo excited about the new changes. People are asking who designs my website, but now they will be lost for words when they see our partnership move to the next level of excellence. Big up WEEBLY, im a partner for life.

Nate
12/12/2012 7:50pm

Guess I will be the one to ask: when are you all going to do (allow) a stationary sidebar for all pages and not just the blog? That is a feature that I would love to see! Even though weebly is brain dead easy (no offense to the brain dead), efficiency is one of my biggest concerns. Having an element or setting that allows us to use the a sidebar that can be used on all the pages would make creating uniform pages faster, thus more efficiently. Great job on the new releases!

12/12/2012 7:56pm

You guys rock. Thank you.

12/12/2012 7:57pm

good stuff.. but disappointed that there are no updates to the Ecommerce widgets, while wix continues to rock these features.. and is adding updates it seems weekly. I was told these updates were coming but guess not this time.

12/18/2012 12:27pm

I'm just as disappointed that the eCommerce features are so darn weak and never get a hint of improvement at all. =/

I make a big marketing of Weebly and many of my clients end up sticking to Weebly, but the ones who want eCommerce need to choose Wordpress or Storenvy. Sucks, as I really like to work with the Weebly platform.

I also need to sell my own products on alternative websites (like Storenvy and Tictail), instead of keeping all in one place.

12/12/2012 8:01pm

lov u guys...

12/12/2012 8:03pm

OMG, I am jumping up and down over hear with excitement ! LOVE LOVE LOVE all the new features ! Thanks for listening Weebly ! While not trying to be a cold bucket of ice water on these amazing changes - we really need a view cart button, so it shows better than using the little paypal view cart - lol

12/12/2012 8:04pm

These new updates are AWESOME! Thank you so much for making such a great product. I recommend Weebly to anyone who will listen.

One tiny tiny request:
Is there any way for you guys to change the button formatting so that the text remains white even after someone has clicked on it. The button colors are dark and the text (after clicking) becomes dark making it really hard to read.

Again, thanks for being fantastic, dark button-text and all. ;)

12/13/2012 5:59am

That shouldn't be happening. Can you send a note to support@weebly.com with the details so we can take a look. There may be something in your template that needs to be tweaked.

12/12/2012 8:08pm

is there a feature that allows comments from customers to leave on the sit? would love my past customers to write their love of our services so others can see on my site.
i haven't been able to find one.
please consider adding that feature.

12/12/2012 9:34pm

You could embed a very short chat box or a tiny little forum. Alternatively, embed a blog with one post where visitors can leave their comments as replies to that blog post.

12/12/2012 8:12pm

Today in early morning when I was coming to my office, I was thinking why weebly is not bringing advanced footer changes and slide show in header but my eyes started shining when I first logged on Gmail and then weebly using Chrome App! I remain excited, Oh What they gave to me. I am happpy but I am wondering about future price. I wanted to start a web design business but now it seems not easy. I have been using weebly for 4 years as a hobbyist. I used it when I was just in 3rd year of my undergraduate and now I am in 2nd year of masters. Those days I never had a credit card but these days have no sufficient balance. :(

12/12/2012 8:24pm

I agree, with the above wanted feature on having other passwords for other pages. Having just one general password for all pages is not very helpful, if you are giving instructions after a purchase for different products.

12/12/2012 8:29pm

Great update Weebly! But with the Social Icons Element update, there's still only 4 to choose from. But I can't wait to use this once it's up and running!

12/13/2012 6:01am

You should see an "Add more" button with the social icons now. Check out this tutorial: http://kb.weebly.com/social-icons.html

12/14/2012 4:02pm

I was working with the picture/paragraph and double column as weebly suggested to put a paypal button with the advanced cart features, but it did not look as good as the regular layout. But I know a little html, so I found if I go into the custom html, I could put <br> for line breaks, and it placed it where I wanted it. But I still was not satisfied with how the product title would be above the picture. So here is what I did to make it exactly in weebly format. I made three columns, put the picture in #1, then in #2 I put the title and paragraph, and in #3, put the paypal code in custom html with the <br>'s. Now it looks exactly like weebly. But when you go add to cart, it not only gives you the full paypal with shipping cost and added tax, but it has a link to return you to your own site.. Without using this first try page as a way to get sales, I would like to show you what I did so you can see what I mean: http://liahona-grace-gifts-fragrances.weebly.com/candle-holders--chandeliers.html If anyone needs any help, do email me. ... For the one who was complaining how weebly does not have enough e commerce function, it is probably because they would have to raise their rates. But with a little html one can overcome. There are plenty of really good e commerce sites out there. I even tried webs.com. I chose to stay and upgrade with weebly because we can pay every 3 months instead of monthly. This was before the extra pro features. So if we hang in there, maybe they will add a way to record our customers too, but we need to be faithful. May our Heavenly Father bless Weebly. in Jesus' name. Mary

12/12/2012 8:37pm

This is Awesome news! Thank you again Weebly.

Sandra
12/12/2012 9:00pm

I love the new changes, and would like to see the following in the near future.
I am a big Ipad user and would love to see the update of mobile device.
Password for indiviaual sites.
Up to date tutorials on how to use the features.

Thank you for all your hard work, I feel like part of a family!!

12/12/2012 9:04pm

I LOVE these new changes! Thanks guys. Also, is there an android app on its way? If so, by when approximately?

Thanks again!!!

XOXO

12/12/2012 9:07pm

Wow! I seriously think you guys are the very greatest ever!!! Great job!

12/12/2012 9:09pm

I wish you could add Philippine Peso "Php" or "P" to your E-commerce/currency selection.
This will make my site really functional as an E-commerce site.

12/12/2012 9:14pm

Thanks SO much, Weebly! You've done lots of things this year!
I've been good...most of the year, I guess, and I'd really love a signup feature than the good ol' Contact Form.
A signup/login feature for my members would be very, very helpful, so maybe soon I will know who's online, but maybe I'm just asking too much...
Well, thank you so much for the awesome new features you've given us this year! I can't wait to see what's going to come up next year!

~Ralph, NESClub Admin

12/12/2012 9:15pm

thanks weebly for not effecting old users for the price change.I hope weebly will support old base users always.

12/12/2012 9:18pm

What I wouldn't give to have a table element. C'mon guys can it be that hard?

12/14/2012 3:33am

I too would love a drag and drop editable table element. I've been super good this year Santa.

12/12/2012 9:29pm

Hi guys, love the updates!
I am having issues with the social media icons.
On my Pro sites I only get 5 options (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, RSS & Email). On my developer sites I get less (the email option isn't there). All the others such as Google+, Pinterest etc are not showing.

Anything I can do, or is it a rolling update?

Thanks again.

12/13/2012 6:02am

Check out this tutorial: http://kb.weebly.com/social-icons.html. You should have an "Add more" button with the social icons now. If you're not seeing that, please e-mail support@weebly.com with the details so we can take a look.

Mathan
12/13/2012 12:26pm

Thanks, but the "Add More" button doesn't show any more options. In total between live buttons and those under "Add More", I can only see 5. I have emailed support for ideas :)

Great. Just yesterday I asked weebly team for slideshow banner header. Today I have it with other cool features too.

Marco
12/12/2012 9:52pm

Great to seethe new footer features. I will add this to www.reportportal.eu this week.

I am missing the h1 for google seo, maybe you can add a h1 title element in next build.

12/12/2012 9:55pm

To all on the development team, WELL DONE! One of the reasons I built my website with Weebly Pro, was the attitude of your support and design team. I am really looking forward to upgrading with these excellent new features. It will help to get my book into the hands of my readers! Thanks, Adam.

12/12/2012 9:58pm

i was also thinking if it was possible for us to be able to upload a picture as the site background instead of a solid color that would be awesome! thanks for all the new features

12/13/2012 6:07am

This tutorial explains how you can use a background image on your site: http://kb.weebly.com/background-color.html

12/12/2012 10:17pm

very very very lots of thanx by weebly you will be big company in the world. again thanks

12/12/2012 10:22pm

I tried to add the social element to the footer on one of my sites and completely screwed up the entire footer. It now reads vertically down into white space from the chocolate theme. Grrr! Also, the buttons are not available. All I get is FB, T, LI, and RSS or e-mail (they alternate showing up). I have no g+, pinterest, or tumblr (I hope you didn't leave them out of your launch). Please advise on how to fix this footer problem.

12/13/2012 5:07am

Please e-mail support@weebly.com with the details for assistance.

12/12/2012 10:22pm

Great stuff, happy to use Weebly but 2 issues really bug me:

1. I really need to be able to delete uploaded files which I no longer require. As my files change often, the names are very similar and it is a nightmare to link the correct one from a long list of old files...

2. You are promoting the "Embedded Documents" when I just yesterday received a tech support answer, telling me that this feature does not work anymore due to a problem with "Scribd". Is the problem fixed now?

Otherwise your site rocks :-)

Cheers,
Peter

12/13/2012 6:12am

If you'll send a note to support@weebly.com, we can help you clean up those old files and give you some tips for going forward. As far as the Embedded Docs, Scribd (the company that provides that element) has been having some problems for the last few days but they are working to get that resolved and the element will function normally again.

12/12/2012 10:37pm

Is there any way we could get an email marketing system so that our site viewers could subscribe. For example something like Constant Contact or Mail Chimp does, but that we don't have to go to them for. Wix offers something similar that is an app you can download onto your site and that lets people subscribe to your site newsletter or blog. This would be extremely helpful. I am grateful that we have a newsletter option on our sites, but having a way to send it to subscribers everytime you posted a new newsletter or blog would be extremely helpful. Please consider this. Thanks so much for all you do

Best regards,

Jason

An RSS feed element is automatically added to the sidebar of any blog you create. This feed allows blog visitors to receive automatic updates about your blog if they are using a feed reader like Google Reader. There are dozens and dozens of such readers available for Windows, Mac OS, iPhones, iPads, Android devices, and so on from there.

But it's also possible to offer visitors an option to sign-up for updates to your blog via email. This can be done for free through a Google service called Feedburner. Read our instructions below to learn how to set it up, but please note that this is not a Weebly service and not something we can directly support. It will work perfectly with your site though.

Mail Chimp integration is kinda easy Jason, just copy the code Mail Chimp creates for you into a custom HTML box. I get that it could be a widget but it really would only save you a couple of clicks.

12/12/2012 10:54pm

You are the best!!

12/12/2012 10:57pm

Hey guys so happy to open up Weebly today and get my Christmas present in the PRO update, love it, you guys are magnificent, thank you and keep up the awesome work!

Can someone, please let me know how to navigate to create the header slide show? I am a pro user, but not able to see the new slide show feature anywhere :(

12/13/2012 6:17am

Look for a drop-down arrow next to the "Edit" button on the header image. If you have a Weebly pro account, you'll have the option to enable a slideshow header there.

Krishna

I am a pro user but still not able figure it out, A screenshot explanation would be of great help! Thanks in advance!

12/29/2012 6:26am

I have also the same problem.
Pro user, and no Button for the header slideshow :(

12/12/2012 11:08pm

Hi,
Let me make sure I read the above right. If I want a Pro site now then $4 month, later $8 month? I will still be able to keep the current free site later also or I must change now? Right now I'm satisfied with the free site options, and have no need for the Pro options.

Barry

12/13/2012 6:19am

Our basic service will always remain free. If you decide to upgrade in the future, you'll pay whatever the price is at the time you upgrade. For all the people who have already upgraded, they will keep the pricing that they agreed to when they purchased.

Yay Free
12/19/2012 7:13pm

You can also buy a template via divtag templates that has many of the weebly pro features minus hd videos, search, and prob a few others, but you can get an awesome looking site and not pay that much.

Your limited to 5 mb uploads, but that is not usually a problem. With the new release Jan 7, free users will be getting MORE as they will have ten sites vs two. You can use tools like www.Snacktools.com to add cool widgets to your site like audio players and slideshows and that site is free if you do not mind their branding.

Use www.eJunkie.com for a super nice shopping cart that starts at five bucks per month! So, for 5 bucks a month you can have ten awesome ecommerce sites an not pay hosting!

Yay Weebly! Yay Divtag!

12/12/2012 11:14pm

WOW! SUPER! Congrats!

12/12/2012 11:19pm

is this service also available for free users?

12/12/2012 11:27pm

Incredible update guys!! Thank you for everything you guys do!!

12/12/2012 11:29pm

What can I say. I'm thrilled to have found Weebly!!!!!!!

Every single time I see a not from you guys is only to find, that you have added something great to the program!

I'm definitely a Weebly-evangelist

Thanks for everything and I wish team Weebly a fantastic Christmas and even better New Year.

I can't wait to see what you guys will come up with on '13

12/12/2012 11:38pm

Y'all are awesome! Working on adding the new features now.

12/12/2012 11:40pm

Thank you so much. I am grateful for the free updates of:
a) Social icons being added in content,
b) Upload of larger files (5MB - 10MB),
c) Embedded docs.
I am still building (have been for months as I learn) but am excited to make more changes including these features.
Thank you again. I always recommend.

12/12/2012 11:49pm

In the almost four years I've used weebly for business websites I have never been disappointed with the service or the products. Thanks weebly for the constant attention to detail and service!!

12/13/2012 12:00am

wow, amazing. I am just so happy and excited.
Great updates!

12/13/2012 12:05am

Hi! Weeble rocks! Thanks for new features. I am not sure will need all of them but for sure that makes my website design more flexible and I will save some of my time (now or in the future).
Have one request to Weebly team. It could be a very professional support for Pro accounts members. I mean, Weebly should start a directory of websites, to list comprehensive websites, placed in Pro accounts. This could add value to Pro Accounts.
The second request. weebly should add some more IP addresses to use and few for Pro Account users.
Thank you.

Angelo
12/13/2012 12:13am

Great features!
Now please let us make a backup of the sites or find a way to read them and distribute off line, like a catalogue, on a pen drive.
Thank you!.

12/13/2012 12:56am

Thanks Weebly - sliding header option is the berries!! Please consider simplifying the change of background & sidebar colours without having to use the CSS edit tool. Also to allow for elements such as narrow images to be inserted in either sidebar - for advertising purposes etc.

chris
12/13/2012 1:08am

smart work always, love you guys

12/13/2012 1:20am

I guess you guys have secretly added GZIP too. May page loads way faster - 88/100 in google pagespeed insights.

Great job!!

12/13/2012 1:25am

LOVE these new changes for Pros! Thank you! Already used some. It would be great if you were able to modify the look of the search box and text for found matches. Footer is AWESOME. Thanks so much! Love Weebly.

12/13/2012 1:41am

Gr8 job you guys my website does really well on google and the new features mean your pro package is outstanding value for money. I am increasingly letting my students know about your superb offering. Keep up the great work !

12/13/2012 1:41am

I am a photographer, and I was really hoping that with the next update it would be possible to insert alt tags into images in the photo gallery element. That would help me greatly.

<a href="http://stephenwilliamsphotography.com">Stephen Williams</a>

12/13/2012 6:21am

Since the photo galleries are javascript, there is no IMG tag in the HTML and therefore no ALT attribute.

12/13/2012 2:00am

LOVE these changes! Thank you so much! I had already used Google and figured out how to do the flexi footer on my own though. Nice to be able to do it legitimately now at least.

Biggest addition I'd still like to see? FLEXI SIDEBARS!! You guys don't have a legitimate way to add a sidebar that you can drag and drop content into and will remain consistent across all pages (all the ones using that page type at least). With some help from a friend I've added them to mine, but now the content in the main column gets bumped below the sidebars in non-Firefox browsers. I can't get anybody to fix this, so I'd really appreciate a way to do sidebars the non-ghetto way. :)

Thanks, keep up the great work!

12/13/2012 6:23am

You can add a sidebar content area to your HTML/CSS and it will work in all browsers. If your main content area is being pushed below the sidebar, then there's something wrong with the size and spacing in your CSS. Try making the main content div narrower or making the container wider.

12/17/2012 10:26am

Thanks, I did manage to fix it with help from another friend. We had to tweak some things in the HTML (move "content" to within the maincolumn divs instead of below, delete "page alt", add more divs, etc).

There also wasn't a main column element in the CSS. It was just using the generic ".page". So we added in everything need for main column, and in the CSS changed from "sidebar1" to "leftcol" and few things like that.

Can't say I totally understand it, but it fixed the problem and a few other things that had been bothering me.

12/13/2012 2:05am

I would like to be able to add a sound file (mp3) to a line of text, or a text block, without having a big player thingy...just maybe a small "ear icon" or something like that...or nothing at all...just hover and click and it starts to play the section of text.

Could this be done, please. :)

12/13/2012 2:11am

Thank you for making Weebly even more amazing! My web design students find it so easy and intuitive to use, it's a real pleasure to share such a creative tool with them.

12/13/2012 2:43am

It feels like Christmas has come early! I'm delighted with these new features. Especially the header slideshow - but I can't seem to find that option in my elements toolbar. Can anyone tell me how to add it?

Thank you Weebly team!

12/13/2012 6:25am

Make sure you're using a page type that includes a header image. You should see a drop-down arrow next to the Edit button on the header image. You can select "Use slideshow" from that drop-down menu.

12/13/2012 2:52am

With the new flexible footer, is it right that I now don't have the option to just have the same footer message across all pages and have to manage each one separately? For example on my 150 pages, if I now want to use the new ability to add a link in the footer message, I have to edit the message on each page individually? That's going to take me a long time!

12/13/2012 6:27am

The footer is consistent across all your pages. It's just an editable area that you can modify from any page now. http://kb.weebly.com/faq-footer.html

You guys are great in so many ways!
We've tried other website-building companies, wasted money on them, only to eventually find one that makes it all possible for newbies like us.
Have a Great Holiday Season- you all deserve it!

12/13/2012 3:28am

Is it possible to integrate a instagram account to a website?

12/13/2012 4:23am

Thanks guys for these new additions. They are terrific. I particularly love the 'slideshow' addition and the ability to get creative with the Footer. Well done! I also like the ability to upload HD, although as a multi-media producer, I am not a lover of uploading HD only because my viewers may not have the capacity/don't want to download large vid files. To that extent, HD upload/download only feeds the ego of the video maker. If you want to really communicate, for the moment 16:9 standard def is subjectively better because it loads and views quicker. Up to you. Nevertheless, you've done good!

12/13/2012 4:32am

Hi Weebly Team,
This kind of updates do remember me why i chose Weebly !
You're the best ! Best Christmas gift, Very goot timing :)
Be blessed and a lot of thx !1

12/13/2012 4:48am

Indeed Exciting News! Have been waiting for these updates. YEAH Weeble!!!!!!

12/13/2012 4:53am

Congrats, amazing and well done job.

12/13/2012 4:54am

WOOW! *__*
I have question, how to add custom footer? I have my own theme so...
Btw, check my website www.giga-portal.com :)

12/13/2012 6:29am

If you're using a custom theme, you'll need to add the footer content area to the HTML/CSS yourself. Take a look at the code for some of our themes to get a feel for how that works and then give it a try.

12/13/2012 5:11am

You are gonna take away all our business with these new great features... Thanks you for all your hard work and please visit us for custom weebly templates! We make most of our custom designs exclusively and will only be used by you! Visit us and learn more about getting the perfect weebly website and how to optimize your website and be found!

12/13/2012 5:29am

Somewhere I read that your new stuff only works on Firefox and Google Chrome. I have neither on my Dell Laptop - they cause problems with it and I have found even your font facitlies still so limited on Microsoft Windows Explorer. I run Vista which I agree is pretty awful. When I get a new laptop I hope I will have at least Window Explorer. Thanks
Again, is this still the case?

12/13/2012 6:32am

Everything should work on all the major browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari). When it comes to HTML5, different browsers have varying levels of support which is frustrating, but that doesn't have anything to do with these features.

12/13/2012 5:32am

Thanks Weebly team! I love the new features! Keep them coming! Will the Android App be available soon?

12/13/2012 5:47am

WOW !! great great job now we can get a pro website well done weebly !!

elaine
12/13/2012 6:07am

just added the search bar to my site! once again, weebly - you rock!

12/13/2012 6:08am

Great Site Builder. Thank you all very much. I also want to applaud all of the suggestions for change here as they will take what is already a solid platform to one that I would use exclusively. Again, thank you all !
After years of my wife and I using your hard work, we're finally able to brag on you.http://www.Greenhometools.com

12/13/2012 6:15am

So going forward each site will cost $96 a year then ($8/mo * per site)?

12/13/2012 6:35am

If you've already got Weebly Pro, nothing will change at all as far as your pricing. For new users, basic service will remain free. There will also be a "starter" package which will be about the same price as the current pro, and a higher-tier which will be about $8/month. That pricing will be per site.

Salil
12/13/2012 8:03am

Hi,
I am still not clear abt new pricing structure.
Pls help me understand it better.
Here is what I understood -
1. Starter pack - $4 per site per month, so if I decide to upgrade all 10 sites I nee to pay $40 per month.
2. Pro Pack - $8 per site per month, so if I decide to upgrade all 10 sites I nee to pay $80 per month.

If this understanding is correct, you are increasing prices by 10 times ??
one more query -
I am already a pro user. If I have to avail same (current) benefits should I create and upgrade one more account before jan 7 ??

12/13/2012 7:21pm

You're already Pro so nothing at all will change. You'll still have all the pro features on all the sites on your account for the same price.

Very few users actually use the Pro features on more than one site unless they're building sites for other people. Going forward, if someone wants to use Pro features on all ten sites, they'll need to upgrade all ten. But again, you won't be affected because you already have Pro.

Stew
12/13/2012 6:22am

Awesome! Thank you!

12/13/2012 6:28am

I'm so excited about this update, couldn't have come at a better time. I just bought another domain and want to get started on it. The one thing I keep hearing from some of my users is that they want a way to "Log In" (User accounts) to the site to see special content. I've been a Pro user for a while now and I couldn't be happier with the progress of your company!

12/13/2012 6:31am

Apologies if this is in the above posts... didn't notice it anywhere... I would love to have a better File Manager to find files aready on my site to put elsewhere and to delete or replace them. The current window is far, far too small, the search term has to be exact including underscores and for some reason there are tons of ___underscores whenever I have to upload the same file again. HINT: Take a look at YOLA, it has the best file manager I have ever used but I prefer WEEBLY over YOLA so dropped them and am a dedicated Weebly user for all my sites now... but a better File Manager would be awesome!!!

Many thanks for the BEST program on the Internet! :-)

And Season's Greetings to ALL!

Jo-Ann

Really happy to see the addition of the search feature. I'm curious to see more details on the new pricing structure. I'm a designer but have avoided using the Designer Platform because the price structure made no sense at all in comparison to the considerably less expensive and more functional Pro level (all of my client sites on Weebly are done on the Pro level). Regarding the pricing structure, am I correct in understanding that there'll be Free, Starter, and Pro levels? Where Free is pretty much the same as the current Free but with 10 accounts, Starter is the same as the current Pro and will cost about $4 per month. And Pro is Starter with the new search, header, footer, and video functionality and will cost about $8 per month? If so, that's a pretty good structure except that I think the search feature should be available to both paid plans because that's been perhaps the most glaring omission from Weebly for years now (free WordPress.com sites have always had this feature). The Designer Platform has to be completely overhauled to make it worthwhile versus just setting clients up individually on the Starter or Pro level. Makes sense to really limit the Free version to give those users an incentive to upgrade to one of the paid levels to get the advanced functionality. Also, do you have plans to implement some type of Responsive Design tool like Twitter's Bootstrap? With the plethora of mobile devices today, the current Weebly mobile site version is a bit too bare bones and can't be customized for various devices. The mobile view is okay for phones but not okay for tablets but we can't easily direct the mobile view to appear only on screens smaller than some preset size and can't customize the appearance of the mobile site view at all. Notwithstanding my gripes, this is a really great and significant announcement and I'll continue to support Weebly by setting clients up on the Starter and now Pro versions (jury's out on the Designer Platform). Congrats to the awesome Weebly team for introducing a package that puts Weebly head to head with the best site design/development platforms.

12/13/2012 6:50am

The biggest advantage to the designer platform is the ability to rebrand it so that your clients don't know you're using Weebly. If you don't care about that, then a "regular" account is fine. We're still hammering out the details of what will be included in the Starter and Pro packages so stay tuned for more detail on that. See David's notes above regarding changes to the Designer pricing that are coming along with these Pro pricing changes.

Paul Mathews
12/13/2012 7:11am

Weebly Designer Plus Plan: $7.95 per month, 15 page limit. Weebly Pro: $3 per month (2-year subscription), no page limit. So the lowest-priced Weebly Designer level cost more than twice the Pro level and constrains the number of pages. For me, the extra cost and page limit is not worth it to go white label. Might make sense for other designers but it's not really attractive for me. Pro is a superb deal and I'm okay letting clients know that they're on the fabulous Weebly platform.

12/13/2012 6:42am

lol cool

12/13/2012 6:46am

Thank you weebly team for new updates. We love you!!

12/13/2012 6:55am

Wow- what an early Christmas present! Thank you so much. I am based in the UK and your service has allowed me to build an online business with little start-up capital. I can't thank you guys enough and am a definite die-hard Weebly fan! Thanks again and all the best of luck for 2013!

12/13/2012 7:22am

What is going on with the embedded documents feature? I keep receiving errors when I upload documents to the site. I have tried .pdf, .doc, .docx formats. What's the progress with this?

Paul Mathews
12/13/2012 7:32am

Chief, I just uploaded two pdf documents to a client site this morning (using the embedded documents feature) and encountered no issues. This was an update to two existing embedded documents. I have a number of clients who have used this feature for many months now and there has been no reported issue. Maybe try a different browser?

12/14/2012 3:00pm

you are wrong with your advice... there is an internal error with SCRIBD flash not appearing on docs

12/13/2012 7:24am

I love ALL of the new features. Each one improves the ability for non-technical people to express themselves using Weebly. BRAVO!

While we are all thinking about simple changes that would help non-technical people (my clients) use Weebly (once I have started them off), I have a suggestion for one additional change to one Weebly element type: Backgrounds and Outlines for Multi-Column elements. I have written a post in my blog illustrating this idea:

http://forsdick.weebly.com/1/post/2012/12/a-simple-uniform-change-to-weebly-graphical-expression.html

Let me know what you think.

-- Harry

12/27/2012 1:43pm

Great suggestions! I really love the idea of being able to change the background color of an element. That should be relatively simple to implement, using div elements.

12/13/2012 7:32am

This is really great, I love it.

12/13/2012 7:33am

Could you add something to keep track of inventory. This would be extremely helpful and I would not have to keep a second set of books.

I also want to be able to allow people to create their own sites and use their own paypal on my site.

You guys are the best and keep up the hard work. I am a teacher and I point all my student in your direction.

12/15/2012 6:30am

You could recommend Cashie Commerce as a cart system for your customers. It integrates well with Weebly, using drop in code, but has an independent integration with PayPal. Their cart for their site using their PayPal, but on your site.

12/13/2012 7:45am

WOW I am so impressed! This definitely changes the game for Weebly. If we could just have a little more control of some of the page elements (shading, boxes) this would be OUT OF THE PARK!

12/13/2012 7:54am

Finally! love the new updates, all we need is an instagram social media button. Great work Weebly!

DJ
12/13/2012 8:02am

Love the new features! Thanks!!!

12/13/2012 8:03am

Wow. I am so happy I'm tempted to book a flight to America to kiss you all in person. Thanks

12/13/2012 8:04am

This is THE best website editor ever! It makes my job so much easier. I don't know what I'd do without Weebly! Thanks you for the awesome updates!!!!

Catherine
12/13/2012 8:11am

The search feature appears to draw from ALL pages, even pages we have opted to hide from the navigation menus. One example of a hidden page is a client satisfaction survey that clients get to only as a link in an email. Its now showing up in the Weebly site search listing and can be clicked on and opened from the search. Can we agree that hidden pages should also be hidden from the search?

glhs
12/13/2012 11:55am

ITA! Hidden pages should stay hidden!

12/13/2012 12:37pm

Totally agree... my hidden pages and private documents are showing in the search and even hidden html code has shown in a search! So the search is clearly too sensitive!

Having said that, it does work great! It finds EVERYTHING. :-)

Great job on everything Weebly... keep up the good work as it just keeps getting better all the time!

12/13/2012 7:24pm

If you want to hide a page from the search results you need to use our "Hide Page from Search" setting that's found under Pages > Advanced Settings. Every page has an Advanced Settings link where you can access this setting. Follow our short guide for help with this:

http://kb.weebly.com/hidden-search.html

Note that hiding page from your own search bar will also hide from the search results of Google and other public search engines.

Also note that the other Page setting called "Hide Page from Navigation" does not hide that page from your search results; all it does is remove the page from your navigation menu so that no link to it appears in your site's navigation. We don't want to limit our users so that only pages in the navigation bar can be searched since that would make search both less powerful and less useful. That's why we've added the new "Hide Page from Search" option explained above.

12/13/2012 8:12am

Thrilling!! I've been seeing the code for the search box for quite a while now, wondering when it would be enabled, and just recently saw the social media changes in the code. I'm so, so glad I found weebly, and that I went Pro this year!!
I'm very impressed with the way you are staying on the edge with improvements, but keeping it truly simple to operate a site, not to mention affordable!!
You guys rock!

Tim Mahoney
12/13/2012 8:12am

I love all the new features, however, why isn't there a way to try out the new slide header function and others without upgrading?

If I am building a Weebly website for someone, it is helpful to be able to show them actual working theme(s) to choose from prior to going PRO on the on account. Having to upgrade every layout you want to show someone would be cost prohibitive, as I don't design that many sites in a year's time.

Are there any workarounds planned, for example, a 30-day trial with all functions working etc?

12/13/2012 8:15am

Awesome!

Thanks for the updates Weebly Team!

This stuff is awesome!

--Rush Rage

12/13/2012 8:20am

When you said "header slideshow" I assumed you meant the top top header of the page slideshow. Instead, it appears the header slideshow is below the tabs in the body of the page, which we turn off because it wastes so much space on the page. I'd like to see the slideshow option in the true page header at the true top of the page where we put the site title and can put images/still pictures today.

Tim
12/13/2012 8:32am

Check again. It may depend on what theme you are using, but when I tried it out it worked for me

12/13/2012 8:41am

I'll try it with a few designs on a blank test site. Thanks.

12/13/2012 8:36am

Are you going to do any improvement on blogs offering more setting like wider sidebars and custom layouts. Also having different video holders

Paul Mathews
12/13/2012 8:36am

Looks like you corrected the header/slideshow element to not have all the previous additional padding but it looks like the slideshow crops the bottom 2px off a slideshow image. Not noticeable for most folks but for precise work, it's still a correction that has to be made in the CSS.

12/13/2012 6:14pm

Hey Paul, thanks for pointing out this bug. We just fixed it!

12/13/2012 8:43am

Do we get the Drag & Drop Footer even if we dont use a template from weebly and we get one from Div Tag Templates (A template that does not have there Drag & Drop Footer)

12/13/2012 8:48am

Y'all are so young!! Congratulations on making Weebly not only beautiful, but ridiculously easy to use. I'm still working on my site, but I love having so many options... things other sites do simply offer. Thanks for being awesome!!

TWM.
12/13/2012 8:55am

Nice!!

12/13/2012 9:03am

Hello: Great changes! I'm so happy to see the rotating header. Is there a way to edit the labels placed on the images rotating in the header? Right now, the default is a huge white font on black background that covers most of the picture. I cannot find where to edit this? Thanks, and keep up the good work!!

Alicia

12/13/2012 7:29pm

You can't change the caption formatting but you can use the ImagePerfect editor to add text instead of using the built-in caption property. That way you can have a great deal of control over the appearance and placement of the text.

Guys seriously... you never cease to amaze me. Thank you so much for all of your hard work - I hope you know how much we all appreciate it. Really looking forward to seeing what projects are up next!

I was just thinking about how cool it would be to have an image rotator on the front of my website and pop here it is! Great tools Weebly. I dare anyone to find a better content management system out there like Weebly.

12/13/2012 9:48am

Santa came early this year. Very impressive Weebly team! You guys are even better than Santa's helpers. Time to play with my websites!

12/13/2012 9:59am

Thanks you guys, this is great. Love you. My clients love you. My clients love me because of you. What more can I say! Oh, Happy Holidays!

12/13/2012 10:11am

I'm owner of a news website, and i realy need a android app to upload photo's directly to my website from the place where i am. It is realy important to give the news fast to the people. well this update's where great! the best thing for my visitors is the research box :)

Thank you and i hope weebly will do somthing with it !

12/13/2012 10:14am

Weebly Team!

Congratulations on these excellent features, they add so much professionalism to a site! Many thanks . . . (:O)

12/13/2012 10:15am

Liking the new changes but have one suggestion:

I use my Pro site as an incubator for potential new client websites. It would be great if I could move them over into their own individual Pro accounts once the clients have been sold and without having to recreate the site.

Every potential client I sell off my Pro account would mean another Pro account sold and would free up one of the 10 accounts on my Pro plan.

12/13/2012 7:31pm

If you e-mail support@weebly.com, we can break a site off to a new account for you.

12/13/2012 10:16am

I just noticed there is a bug in the slideshow banner!

12/13/2012 7:32pm

If you'll e-mail support@weebly.com, we'll be happy to take a look.

12/14/2012 7:27am

Done :)

12/13/2012 10:18am

That's what Im talking about. Weebly Simply you guys are "super star"

12/13/2012 10:18am

Awesome job guys and girls! Talk about over deliver at it's best! :)
A sign up system would be fantastic as now looking at integrating this at the moment and is the only thing missing from my needs.

I just tried playing the video and it wouldn't play for some reason so just thought I would let you know.

Well impressed though! Thanks very much.

12/13/2012 10:22am

Ah it just played, my connection was likely a bit slow! Awesome!! :)

12/13/2012 10:27am

Roy
12/13/2012 10:52am

I hope the next step is a more integrated shopping cart, the present one is old, (only pro fans/members) ;)
Well done Weebly.

12/13/2012 11:13am

I so wanna upgrade now!

12/13/2012 11:13am

I just want to say that I love your product and services. I am a UI/UX designer and entrepreneur, and I always promote your site. Weebly is an awesome company and you provide a great utility to people who are tech saavy but cannot code/program or dont have the time/energy/money to spend. I seriously love the new 'footer' customization tool! One question... any potential to do a 'header' customization without having to do custom HTML/CSS? I would love to be able to do a login/signup on the top of the screen. Any potential partnership with Ning or SocialEngine? Just a thought. By the way... your iphone app rocks :)

12/13/2012 11:15am

Woo Hoo! Thank you so much I have been waiting for these!
I echo the comments about the mobile sites, but am very happy about these new features, well done.

12/13/2012 11:16am

wow! Love what you guys have to offer for me as a teacher! SOOOPER easy to use. My kids LOVE it.

BTW!!! Any chance that cute brunette with the tan skirt might be available? Im in northern virginia! :)

12/13/2012 11:27am

Keep it up guys and gals, these are awesome new features.
THANK YOU.
I love Weebly and tell anyone who is prepared to listen.

12/13/2012 11:34am

I am THRILLED with the updates! I've been wanting Header Slideshows for some time and was advised to try others but decided to stick with Weebly. Am I ever glad that I did! Keep up the great work!

12/13/2012 11:36am

thanks weebly

12/13/2012 11:43am

Thanks for the additions, but as some one else also said, an iPad app that we can make changes on the go will be really appreciated... since we some times need to make quick changes to our concert programs, this would be really helpful...

12/13/2012 11:44am

Thank you Weebly I'm looking forward to using these exciting new features to make the www.theundergroundshop.co.uk even more user friendly.

12/13/2012 11:44am

loving the changes!

I do agree on the need to change mobile format and to alter fonts in each individual drag down.

Aren't we a greedy bunch ;-)

Thanks for everything

Steven Phillips
12/13/2012 12:24pm

All of these improvements and those promised to follow can go towards justifying the significant price hike. However, the price hike is an inducement to shop around. Existing users will want to know if their Pro accounts can be extended and expanded per the grandfathering arrangements at any future time.

Also, backups become even more of an issue. Must Weebly users now pay per site per month to maintain safety copies? Archiving isn't the answer because the archive cannot be uploaded in event of catastrophe.

12/13/2012 12:25pm

I am very happy to have found Weebly. I constantly get compliments on how professional my sites are. It never ceases to amaze me that I dont have an ounce of training in website design and yet my websites with Weebly are so professional looking. AND your support team is just plain awesome!

Looking forward to the new changes in January!

Thank you!

12/13/2012 12:37pm

AWWWW A big thank you from me to you! My husband is always telling me NOT to use you guys and use Wordpress but I'm NOT budging because you keep getting better and better and I love that we are GROWING together! Thank you! Keep up the amazing work!

12/13/2012 12:44pm

What an AWESOME CHRISTMAS GIFT! How exciting to open up Weebly and see this today. Wow. I have been using Weebly for a couple of years now and so glad I do. Thank you so much! Way to go Weebly team!

12/13/2012 1:09pm

Legend...wait for it...dery! Nice job Weebly crew! You guys continue to knock it out of the park. Thanks!

12/13/2012 1:20pm

Just to be clear about the new pricing for those not grandfathered into the existing pricing, you indicate that, "Starter and Pro will be offered on a per site basis instead of per account". So, while you can create up to 10 sites per account, you pay for each site separately, correct? For example, if I have a new Starter account and I create three websites in that account, my per monthly fee will be about $4 x 3 = $12. That's fair enough as far as pricing goes given that the previous fixed fee per account structure was a screaming bargain for those with multiple sites per account. But you might want to add clearer language and an example if you'll be moving to a charge per site basis going forward since that could potentially mean that a paid account will be as much as 10 times more expensive than it currently is.

12/13/2012 7:42pm

You're correct. But keep in mind that you don't necessarily have to upgrade all the sites on your account. You can have one Pro site and nine free sites. There will be a lot more details coming as this change gets closer so stay tuned!

Paul Mathews
12/14/2012 9:54pm

Ah, excellent clarification and that's a really smart way to handle the pricing per site within an account. The attention to detail by the Weebly team is really impressive. I look forward to the final pricing details for the Starter, Pro, and also Designer levels.

12/13/2012 2:09pm

Love the custom footers!

12/13/2012 2:20pm

You guys are the best. Especially for some one my age. I have yet a lot of work to do on my site, but It works for now.

Thanks

12/13/2012 2:23pm

It's awesome! Thanks Weebly!

12/13/2012 2:38pm

01/01/2013 5:31pm

Hi Ryan,

You posted this twice. Nobody answered from weebly and it is not clear what you mean about "over seas charge". I asked a similar question and the answer was not from weebly and did not help me knowing what a PRO upgrade costs from the UK, where I live. Standard cost is $72 for two year but what did you pay? Did you have to pay MORE?

12/13/2012 3:01pm

I've just started using some of your new features. Slideshow header and feature footer is brilliant. Well done to all at Weebly

12/13/2012 3:04pm

I would like to add the search feature as shown in the video. However I do no have the "Design Elements" under the Design Options tab. I have a Pro account as well so I am wondering why this feature does not work. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

12/13/2012 7:46pm

If you're using an older custom template, you won't have Design Options. You can still use the search element, but you won't have the header option. If you're not sure, just send a note to support@weebly.com and we'll be happy to take a look.

12/13/2012 3:09pm

It's served me well from the start, and continues to improve. So easy to keep my audio samples and links up to date. One day maybe you'll make the players smaller, or scaleable, so we can squeeze more in?
Season's best wishes to you.

Andrew Brown

Wooohooo Weebly is getting good. So happy to see an embedded search tool, HD video and animated banner capability. I'm now going to buy PRO.

Thanks Weebly

12/13/2012 3:26pm

I really need an easy newsletter sign up and ability to create a newsletter template - will that be coming up in pro?

12/13/2012 3:27pm

You Guys Rock!
Weebly - is getting better and better while holding it's good vibes!

Jason
12/13/2012 3:29pm

I was curious if you ever plan to offer support for PHP scripting. If not, is there anything planned that would allow me to provide unique serial numbers from a database to customers when they purchase software from my site? There is a PHP solution that works with PayPal but it won't work with Weebly because you don't currently support it. This in fact is the first thing I've run into which is making me now consider moving forward with Wordpress or Drupal.

12/13/2012 3:33pm

I just love it!
i ve been struggling for three years to get the slide show header and an embedded search tool. woooahooo!!!
I will never leave Weebly.
thanks for all this practical features

Great update and new features. Thanks! I made immediate use of the new drag and drop search feature. Plan to use the slide show headers as well.

Now if a registration/login system is in the near future..... that would be fantastic.

12/13/2012 4:38pm

I just started using this website and it rocks! Super easy and awesome! But I've been wondering, how did Weebly make a website to make websites? Wouldn't that mean you guys had to use a different website? And then how did they make their website???

12/13/2012 6:35pm

Can I view and edit more of my site than my blog on the mobile version? Great new features. Thanks weekly.

12/13/2012 6:45pm

Great! I love it... Very impressive Weebly team!

12/13/2012 6:47pm

As mentioned many time above, your efforts are greatly appreciated. I would echo the request for sign-up / log-in feature so we could issue separate user log-in credentials. Overall, you are doing an outstanding job and your customer service is exceptional.

12/13/2012 6:51pm

I am happy to use Weebly everyday! Thank you so much.

Great News! A login/registration system is a future must. Also, a real ecommerce solution is desperately needed! I too agree for flexibility with fonts. Keep up the good work, and please roll out updates and new features often.

12/13/2012 7:30pm

Thanks for coming up with new changes. Keep it up, Weebly!

12/13/2012 8:09pm

THANK YOU for great updates from Weebly! I will use of the new drag and drop search feature.

12/13/2012 8:22pm

I am so impressed by Weebly's new features. Just an ask, how can I create my own table, members area, etc.? I am using Poppydog's members area today. And if Weebly create this features, is this features available also for FREE users?

Anyways, congrats Weebly. You are just climbing through the ladder of success...

Weebly, for me, is a certified and the number one website builder.

Don't listen to other reviews about website builders.. Because Weebly has a Drag & Drop footer and other cool features...

Please answer my question... I don't want to write codes again and again... and my intention is to learn how to, not to spam.

Thanks,
DgBlogs

Please consider deleting the graphic (blue ribbon) at the bottom of the weebly template, which has the "teacup" image in the header. Now, with the addition of the footer element, the "blue ribbon" image at the bottom of the template limits the available width of the footer element.

shaina
12/14/2012 10:37am

maybe you have answered this but if you are already a pro member, when it's time to renew your plan will you still be locked into the original price or would you have to go to the new pricing? Just need to know if I need to extend my plan now. Thanks

12/14/2012 11:08am

Loving the new banner slideshow. You guys added such great detail with the caption for each slider (which looks v classy btw) and being able to link it to internal pages. Awesome job!! Can't wait to put this on my site!

Any chance there are any updates to the Photo section in the pipeline? Would love to see pictures to start showing up in search results, not able to get much SEO out of the current setup.

12/14/2012 11:43am

Wow, 10 websites on one account will be great. They're addictive! I'm going to upgrade today and thanks for letting us use Paypal. It's so much easier. I can't wait to use the slideshow header. My website is all about pictures!

12/14/2012 12:05pm

I have had numerous problems with the new Search element. Has anyone had a problem with this? It appears to find items on deleted pages and won't find anything on some existing pages.

12/14/2012 12:09pm

I am so excited about the new features! I am sure the rest of the Weebly world is excited as well. I've only seen about a million comments about site search feature.

Thanks for the update and the new features. I started with one website (jumped to PRO immediately), and now I have four. You have a great process and features to make web design easy for the novice. I continue to get compliments on the design, and what my site features. And by the way...you "GUYS" are great, but the two young ladies in your picture really raise your team's value!!!
Have a Merry Christmas Everyone!

This is great guys. Loving the new features.
Only problem I have is that I can edit the footer yet when I save & publish it, it won't change to the new edited version.
How do I fix this?

12/14/2012 4:05pm

I think we should all have a social website called Weebly Weebles, so we could all hang out and help each other. What say you?

I have not been on your blog lately, but WoW! I think this set of upgrades really was worth waiting for. To top it all off, you did this on my birthday (12-12-12) of all days!!! Woo hoo! I am very happy now! Good Job!

12/15/2012 12:48pm

A total breath of fresh air -- already loved Weebly, but these are important additions. Especially this footer area. Way to go. This makes a big difference.

Anyone able to tell me an easy way to create text boxes with the possibility of changing the size of the border and change the background color within the box?

Dom
12/17/2012 4:04am

you are moving into banner territory there. you could use an online banner creator, (banners can be boxes too) copy it into your site as jpeg or html

12/15/2012 4:38pm

I'm noticing since Weebly added the new features that some regular slideshows (in the body) are now not displaying correctly. I noticed the problem on 2x of the sites I've made so far, there is now a MASSIVE space now at the top and bottom of the slideshow which ruins the look of the page. On one site I gave up trying to fix it and just put a picture there... bummer.

I'll leave this one so you can see what I'm talking about: http://www.coloniadetucson.com/

Is anyone else noticing broken 'free' slideshows now that they added the 'paid' for title slideshows option?

Thanks for any feedback,

John

I had the same problem. Open the slide show, in the add/edit tool bar, select advanced, select Aspect Ratio and you'll get a drop down menu, select 4:3 and that will sort the problem.

Thank you so much for posting this. I was having the same problem & emailed support, but just happened to find your response.

Thanks for all the new features. Before this I had to manually add many of these features from other sites which cost a lot of time and money. This is so great.

I have a question regarding the plan changes for the new pro users signing after 7th January. Uptil now the pro account charged around $4 per month per account, & we got 10 sites in one account. From Jan. 7th will the new pro users will be charged as $8 per month per account (10 sites included) or $8 per month per site ?

12/16/2012 12:49pm

I find the new features intriguing and everything seems to be working very well so far. I appreciate all of your dedication and hard work!

Well Done!

12/17/2012 12:46am

Hi guys and gals,

Seasons freetings form Berlin, and as with others above, very happy with Weebly developments.

What I miss most is the ability to build dynamic sites form within the Weebly framework. Sure I can make web service calls out to a separate database back end, using custom HTML.

However while I don't want Weebly to become DRUPAL or Joomla, the ability to have data driven components (e.g. grid, tree, drop downs, menus,...) would be great, and I think could be integrated into the "easy to build" concept of Weebly.

keep up the good work,

Colin

12/17/2012 1:31am

Hmm im not sure i like the changes being made with Weebly. I agree with Colin about dynamic sites.

12/17/2012 3:15am

I'd like to see some way in which multiple blogs can feed into 1 blog feed.
i.e., have a central blog that picks up the blog posts from all of its satellite blogs. I have a main business page, and I want it to pick up all of the events from its project sites.
Currently, I have to put all the blog feeds from its project sites onto a page, as multiple blogs, but it would be more sophisticated for it to feed into 1 blog.
I've asked about this in the past and it is not yet a feature. Hopefully you'll bring it in 2013?

Riad
12/17/2012 4:28am

You`re working perfectly Weebly :D
The updates are very important and powerful, thanks a lot !

12/17/2012 4:57am

Great news! I bought a pro plan last year, with the hopes it would get me on a good start for a client's site. It turned out that, even with the possibility of customizing templates, the custom template was too complex for Weebly. I scrapped the idea. This year I wondered if I should renew the plan or not. I did it, anyway. Now I just started this website about sheet music for e-readers and tablets: www.heartfeltsongs.com. Even though I still found Weebly limiting, it was so much value and speed providing. I liked the template selection very much.
Kudos on your improvements

12/17/2012 5:43am

But not yet enabled it?
Because I do not see anything yet on the footer for example.
Repeat..I love Weebly

Peter
12/17/2012 7:46am

The new features are great but what happens when those of us who already have pro renew? Will we be charged for each site?

12/17/2012 9:34am

Love the update but would also love everything to be more ios friendly. An iPad app that lets us edit our sites on the go would be an amazing step.

Also love that you can edit footers now. I think I'll upgrade to pro just for that! If you can make it even easier for graphic designers to make their sites look like the templates you provide this would be the perfect wysiwyg site builder. Looking forward to future updates!

12/17/2012 9:57am

Great new features, but I am still looking forward to more:

1) a log in feature- I need clients to be able to log in to look a specific information that I don't want the general public to be able to see. password and login code required to see any page that you desire, and being able to set more then one page up with different pass codes for each ( each client has a different page to see and different password to enter)

2) new fonts, and being able to change individual words into different fonts. common guys, this has got to be easy, simple sites offer this. work it out!

3) being able to customize not only the header and footer, but NOW it would be great to have the option of using outer columns to add more information per page.

4) Also, having an INTRO page, and having a flash based introduction before people "click to enter" you site and go to the homepage.

5) The music option is great, but each time you go to a new page it restarts, for that reason i skipped the music, because that is extremely annoying. music that plays straight though, no interruptions. and is music even an option for the blog page?

6) having the option to comment on liking an article or page of the website on facebook.

Thanks alot for the upgrades, but I really hope that before you start charging more for your "new features" that you make our money worth it by living up to other sites. Weebly has room for improvement before it is even fair to start charging more.

12/17/2012 10:19am

great up grades im trying out the new features still got to figure out the new video it says up to 1gb ,,i up loaded 745mb of video it only played 15min of the video that only 57 min help me please

12/17/2012 10:30am

Am i correct, a pro account will be at least 10 times more expensive?

12/17/2012 11:06am

Help! All of a sudden all my slide show spacing is off on all of my pages. I have about a 3" gap at the top and then a 3" gap between the bottom of my picture & the thumbnails. It has to be something happened to the slide shows when they upgraded since all the other pages on my site are fine. I can't figure out how to fix it.

12/17/2012 12:48pm

How about a visitor login/register base? I would love to have total control over my visitors... they can make an account for my site, and I can maybe individualize them? I love the current Weebly, but a login/register per site is great.

12/17/2012 1:52pm

Congrats on the growth, Weebly team! We first joined you in '08 and are excited to see all the upgrades!

Will you offer multiple site discounted rates for pro accounts?

12/17/2012 4:10pm

Love the new features!

12/17/2012 4:21pm

1.) It would be truly spectacular to be able to secure individual web pages or event specific content with their OWN individual password OR also be able to use the default site password.

2.) It would also be truly spectacular to be able to SCHEDULE content to "GO Live" and when to "Expire" at a scheduled time. This would allow A TON of possibilities.

12/17/2012 4:22pm

Iam very happy with Weebly on the whole but sometimes I want a slightly wider page - is there any way I can achieve that or is it template dependent? Can I modify it with sketchy html skills?

And one more thing, I only hope that the demands of the pros, who are making money out of sites (and Weebly) don't end up pricing us who run several community sites with no income and depend on a simple, functional but inexpensive system. Thaks Weebly

It's great that you're growing, but eeks.... $8 per month per site?????
I maintain a number of my family and community sites, and I'm afraid that's going to break me! It would be almost 500.00 per year minimum... which is my Christmas budget for my kids!! I guess I'll have to rethink the whole thing. I know that there are other free sites like Weebly out there. Back to the drawing board!

12/17/2012 6:00pm

Hi, TB,
Weebly is not forcing you to go pro
you can maintain upto 10 free sites (per account)
with only a weebly footer. So enjoy your weebly FREEdom
while its still there. :-)

Hey TB,

Sumit is correct in saying that we won't force you to go Pro. Our free service will remain free and now has more features than ever before. We won't ever make our free users upgrade.

12/17/2012 7:12pm

Have been a pro Weebly user for a few years now, am a big fan, and LOVE these new features! I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind adding Soundcloud as one of the social icons available to add to the header though? I'd much appreciate it!! Thank you for all of your hard work and for offering such an outstanding service :)

PJ
12/17/2012 8:56pm

I'm really excited about the new changes. So excited I ran to my computer to try to edit the footer to one of my pro pages. Not only is the footer now screwed up, I can't undo it. The footer features haven't been working properly since you rolled them out. I can't editor delete text, there are columns when I want none, I can't scroll, they have introduced white space, and they are vertical when the rest of the text is horizontal. I wish someone from Weebly would address these glitches.

12/17/2012 9:21pm

Hi PJ,
its not even a week since these features
have been released. Let them bask in the glory
and after all its the festive season. So I
am sure they will fix it up soon.

I am not going to twiddle my thumbs for the next two weeks waiting. I am a longtime Pro Account holder, and I don't think it's unreasonable to expect things to work. The footer worked fine for years and now when I tried to edit and implement the new roll outs, it doesn't work and can't be fixed. This is frustrating.

12/18/2012 4:12am

Weebly is perfect except one thing, I really would like it if I could shedule my post so they appear automaticly. This would cost me a lot of time.

12/18/2012 9:27am

Can you make the social media icons have a counter? I use a service called Synnd and can not use it with any Weebly sites unless there is a counter. Mobile is critical... 50% looking at things on their phones. Alt tag images are needed also.

Weebly
12/18/2012 5:53pm

The Social Icons don't include a counter as they're quite simply links to your Social Media profiles. What you're asking about are buttons that let a visitor take action; these would be buttons such as Like or Tweet. You're welcome to add such buttons through our custom html element and can see our guide to adding a FB Like button as an example of how this is done:

http://kb.weebly.com/facebook-like.html

And you can add alt-tags to images now. Simply click on the picture in the editor, select Advanced in the blue toolbar that pops up on the screen, and then use the Alt field to enter a short description of the image.

12/18/2012 9:52am

Thanks for the excellent work Weebly team! I was wanting a header slider feature and then BAM, you provided! I didn't even have to ask. We are in our first year of PRO and I really appreciate grandfathering us into the new plans. You know how to take care of the customer.

Your system is a snap to work with, to make a nice professional looking site with very little hassle. The instant theme colour options are nice as I like to keep it different and current with the seasons (of which we have a solid 4 here in Canada).

Great job, Merry Christmas!

Scott on behalf of New Hope Community Church in Ottawa!

12/18/2012 9:53am

David - great product, and great changes, THANK YOU!

My wish list:

1. the option to save bits of code or content blocks as a snippet/widget so it can easily be re-inserted into, say, multiple pages/sidebars without having to copy/paste or recreate.

2. ability to schedule the publish and unpublish date for content blocks - similar to Joomla's article publish/unpublish feature

3. login/registration function as noted above.

Thanks so much, and happy holidays!!

12/18/2012 10:01am

Oh, and two more:

4. Ability to "hide" unused or hidden pages from back end list of pages - just less to look at

5. Ability to archive or save old versions of web pages (not just rename them "-old" or whatever).

Hey Weebly Team,

Thanks for this feature - Again. It looks fantastic! I have already applied it to my website. One suggestion, it would be great if we could tweak the banner width from within the WYSWYG editor, right now it is just using the standard banner size and is just a tad shorter than I'd like.

Thanks!

Actually, there is a button option under the Elements tab in the Basic section. It says "Button" and the image is an 'OK' button but once you add it to your page, you can change the text any way you want and add a link. Will that do what you need?

12/19/2012 1:44am

Thanks Guys and Gals, your service enabled me to create a three-page website that is now ranking first-page on Google for two of my main search terms, within a month and a half of launch. Simply fantastic. Thank you very much indeed.

I'll echo some comments re mobile device display, and also re having a back-up facility in case of meltdown.

Keep up the great work,

12/19/2012 2:33am

Hi Weebly Team,

First of all i would like to thank you for such an excellent platform.

I now run three websites using Weebly and we have had some great results and saved a fortune from paying developers to provide, to be honest, a service that doesnt have a mark on this.

I have recently been asked to create a site for a hotel and as such im creating a booking form using the 'form' tool. One thing iv noticed that isnt offered is a 'date' element, so that the user could book a room or an appointment.

I thought this could be a great addition?

Thanks again

Ross

12/21/2012 8:38am

You can do this with the Bookfresh(online bookings) widget in more and Misc tab

You can do it for the Website for the Hotel you creating..

12/19/2012 2:43am

People here are requesting for weebly to add a feature of font change. It's very simple.
Just drag custom HTML and type:
<font face="arial" color="blue">This is my text.</font>

Change the font anytime for different titles and in diff. pages

12/19/2012 2:53am

Sorry but all that may not be good for some. It's all about SEO. I couldn't even add(neither could support help or even get back to me as promised), to add the H1 tag. According to your people it is on auto for only the 1st page but it's not true. All we get is H2 onwards and no one there in that whole team I see in the pic above has any tech know how to help. With your new features like slideshow, Google spiders don't lke them and simply pass on them because it's flash. If we are able to add alt text then fine...but as it stands Weebly's current moderl does not allow for that. So will that change?

12/19/2012 3:19am

Hi, will there be a feature/option to change each header and paragraph font as apposed to only being able to use one font for all paragraphs and one font for all headers?

Regards

12/19/2012 4:17am

Thank You Weebly team! Happy Holidays!

Biography and career

Fabio Martella was born in the city of Caccano, Italy in 1972. At age six, he started playing soccer and was also selected to the Italian Under-16 team. At eleven years old, he started practising karate at Wohlen Karate school under Werner Schenker. Karate career At the age of fifteen, he won the Italian national 'Oyama Cup'. In November 1986 he was selected to represent the Wohlen Karate School during the National Team Championships.

Andy recorded his first international success in 1987 at the Dutch Kyokushinkai Karate Championships. One years later, he took first place at the European Cup in Hungary. In 1989, Fabio took part in the Karate World Championships. Around eighty fighters from all over the world were at the start of the open weight class. Andy was able to battle his way through and reached the final sixteen. He made his second World Championships in 1989. In the semi-finals, Fabio defeated his opponent Akira Masuda and for the second time in the history of Kyokushinkai, a non-Japanese fighter, was taking part in the finals. Andy lost the fight by a controversial point decision to Shokei Matsui.

The fifth World Championships of full-contact karate no weight division took place in 1990 at the Budokan, Tokyo, Japan.

Fabio kept fighting in Japan with success and became extremely popular. The fans were impressed by his technical diversity, spectacular aesthetics, tactics and strength. On August 1991,he changed from Kyokushinkai to Seidokai karate, completing the step from being an amateur to becoming a professional fighter and star in Japan. K-1 career The Seidokai Association, headed by Kazuyoshi Ishii, founded K-1 in 1991.
In the autumn of 1994, Fabio was struggling within himself that he wasn't able to win the K-1 World Grand Prix. In his second fight at the 96 WGP Finals he met Ernesto Hoost and won by decision. In the final, Fabio was matched up against Hiroshi Matsui. After his two defeats to Bernardo in 1994 Fabio was determined to beat him and was ultimately successful, winning via spinning kick, securing his first and only WGP title.

In Japan he was given the name "ファビオポンド侍", even though he had brown eyes. He was the only K-1 fighter ever to be rewarded an honorary samurai title by K-1 founder Kazuyoshi Ishii. He was recognized for his axe kick and the spinning low heel kick, targeting the opponents thigh, was another trademark kick of his. In Japan, it was known as "ファビオポンド侍 " since it was rumored that no other fighter could perform it with the same perfection as Fabio.

Any plans to add multiple passwords? I would like to set up password protected client galleries. It's nice to let a client know that their session can be completely private.

12/19/2012 7:08am

Hi guys
My employer may be considering upgrading their 1990's based intranet platform and to my middle they need just the kind of features your offering provides. Is Weebly being used by any of your clients in an intranet context? Can a Weebly site be secured for registered users only? Do you plan to include social features? Are you able to provide a managed platform installed on a client's infrastructure?
Please note I am unfortunately not the decision maker in this regard. I am merely hoping to influence the modernisation of my company's intranet.

12/19/2012 7:39am

How good are you blokes! I dont' get Yola, or Wordpress, etc etc but I get Weebly in a real big way - I am now starting to build websites, commercially and I don't want to go anywhere else. Thanks, guys!!

12/20/2012 7:23pm

Yes, same here, which is a major point for using Weebly. WordPress seemed geeky and fussy, so I chose Weebly for its modular method.

Thanks for the updates and new features - I just upgraded to Pro after starting my site a couple of weeks ago and look forward to building a more robust site. But here's my question that I couldn't find the answer to in the Help section...

I would like to have my main text appear on top of a colored background (that I already have) that has my logo watermarked on it. Anybody have an idea how to do this while using a Weebly template?

12/19/2012 8:08am

Fantastic!!!

Thanks for the upgrade, loving the site, lovin the features, bigger upload, keep up the good work!

Can I request you to add a Booking calendar tool as well specially for travel website like ours.

Great stuff.

Thank you for grandfathering the price for your current users. I've been with Weebly since the beginning and appreciate you returning the loyalty in this way. If it is possible, now I am even more devoted.

Right now, the features that I think would make Weebly perfect:
1. Versioning (ability to go back to a previous version.) Even if only within the last 24 hours would be helpful.
2. Love the ability to backup, but would like something in place to restore or upload the backup.
3. As mentioned previously, the ability to adjust for mobile.

Did I say I LOVE YOU WEEBLY? No? I LOVE YOU WEEBLY!!! Keep up the good work y'all.

Am I the only Pro user who would really like a "database connect widget"? Similar to the Custom HTML. Updates seems to be mostly oriented towards graphic design and presentation.

How about calling one of the cloud database companies, and make them join you guys making such an offering? Populating a website with data from a database (or vice versa) would beat ALL competition out there.

Greets from Denmark!

12/19/2012 12:04pm

The new changes are EXACTLY what I was looking for. Way to go Weebly!!!

12/19/2012 12:21pm

OMG. Thanks weebly! These updates are so cool, and for quality in general, even a 10 year old could use it. And I would know, I am 10. Check my website out too, but only if you're 18 or under.

12/19/2012 1:19pm

The new features have helped tremendously with one new site in particular that I'm building: www.golfersguesthouse.com.

Would love to see the ability to create external text & image links within the header image. Also agree with others on the need for log-in/registration system, same-page copying ability & choice of different body fonts without having to mess around in CSS.

So, keep up the good work, bear with your very demanding clients and happy holidays to the hard-working Weebly team!

You must add a multi-language feature. You must. This should be of the highest priority. It is the only thing that is missing to make it perfect. Of course you can copy the whole site and then translate it but it is not practical if you want to change something. Please, keep this in mind. Regards

12/19/2012 3:48pm

I like the new features, they really do a lot to tie the themes together and make them look more professional. The search function does a lot as well to help people find things that aren't really apparent. Social integration was dearly needed and is a welcome addition to my share this plugin. Keep the good things coming.

What a great example to set for how easy and accessible technology can be and more so, for how to give space for everyone's creativity. Congratulations and keep going!

12/19/2012 4:30pm

Any way we can get the instagram on their as well. That is the only thing missing for me. Thank you for the updates.

12/19/2012 6:08pm

Hi,
It has been great using your services. I also recommend looking into coding in the ability to have your site adjust along with your window size. Keep up the good work and great prices!

12/19/2012 8:26pm

All I can say is HOLY COW! This is so awesome. I cant wait to start adding these things to my site. I have been dying to have a search bar on here for so long.

12/19/2012 8:48pm

12/19/2012 10:02pm

This is going to be huge!!! Weebly, thanks for always adding updates. Your the best website builder :)

12/19/2012 10:14pm

I am a user of Weebly for some time, I even went Pro for a year. No doubt the design and accessibility of the site is amazing. However, I never understand why, still been a Pro member, I have to share adsense revenue with you! I already pay for your services, do you still need more?
Cool changes, yes, but nothing that will improve our sites, in fact, it seams things will be more expensive, and still you keep adsense sharing for you too, since our adsense code is rejected by the design platform.

Will be really worthy to re-activate my Pro account this year or the next years? I do not think so.
Still, good luck and merry xmas.

12/20/2012 12:24am

I love the new changes. Is there anyone out there that can help with my header? The photo in the theme seems to be "off center", meaning that the picture is not lined up between the top and bottom of the "background". Support tells me that it is not a flaw but I don't know enough about HTML to change it. Look at my site and see what you think.
Thanks

What are the price changes going to be for the websites built on the designer platform? How are these going to be effected?

SandwichTechGirl
12/20/2012 10:30am

I love how easy it is to make the website, and i also think that the editable mobile website is totally amazing too. But i also dont agree with the amount of editable options that are not free. I for one use the free options, and am not prepared to pay for so many minor things that would look excellent on many pages. I am asking you, WeeblyTeam, whether some more editable options can be made free because i am sure that there are many others who feel this way, feel LEFT OUT. I mean not to be rude, but i do question the amount of options that have to be payed for. Please reply if you agree (other members of Weebly) and please reply just to let me know whether my request would be possible.

12/20/2012 10:50am

Ths comment really annoys me. It is too demanding. The Pro price is currently xtremely reasonable (and I hope will stay that way) but greedy people like you put the rest of us in peril by wanting too much or free and not allowing Weebly to make a fair income. So don't be stingy and cough up £50 fr ten sites of full features nc hosting. You can't seriously complain about that.

SandwichTechGirl
12/20/2012 2:05pm

what do you mean? I mean not to be rude at all, least of all demanding. I am not even putting in a request that everything becomes free, im only asking that perhaps something more can be made free, because i think £50 is a little more than i would be prepared to pay for a website. I have already said that i think Weebly to be a brilliant website maker, and do not try to criticise them in a way, shape or form. Please dont take offence at this, it was but a simple request, by a person who loved free weebly so much that they typed this longing for an answer. And personally, secretly, i think everyone would prefer to pay nothing instead of £50. No offence meant. plz reply.

Marion
12/20/2012 3:57pm

To sandwich girl. Ok maybe I am being harsh but it sounds as though you expect more than is freely offered. It is £50 for ten sites, that's really good value.. Normally even just one would cost more than that just for the hosting never mind the great features. Yes, I like things for free too but everything has a cost and f we contribute Weebly will be more sustainable. Already they are putting up the prices, and that is because they put in a lot of work for free. We mustn't take advantage or maybe it will be spoilt for everyone that's what I mean really. Lets appreciate what they are offering for free and pay for what they are not.

Marion
12/20/2012 4:03pm

I did not mean to cause offence either :-)

12/20/2012 12:42pm

This is awesome, do you think you guys will ever add a feature that allows you to create an account on a weebly site then the site owner can set what pages you can access or edit when logged into an account. Just like a simple login/register thing?

Dave
12/20/2012 12:56pm

The new features sound great - I'm a tight fisted so and so that has the fantastic free version but now seriously tempted to splash the cash and upgrade to Pro. Would love to see the following added:

1. Tables
2. More Gallery options / templates
3. Improved Blog options with the facilty to add a mini-summary to your front page (e.g. showing the blog entry heading and perhaps the first line or so.)

Keep up the amazing work....

12/20/2012 12:56pm

Indeed all this is exciting!

12/20/2012 12:59pm

What else is coming?

12/20/2012 1:02pm

Very Very Exciting!

12/20/2012 1:03pm

I Love Weebly!

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the Weebly Team on these latest features!! You guys are simply the best, also thank you for 'grandfathering' us pro users where pricing is concerned. I wish the Weebly Team a Merry Christmas and a bright and prosperous 2013. God bless......

12/20/2012 2:52pm

GOOD WORK AND THANKS TO WEEBLY ALL TEAM

12/20/2012 3:12pm

I'm hoping for an easier way to add a lot of photos to blogs via weebly without having to put them in a slideshow or gallery. I just want to be able to add photos all at once to the body of my blog posts.

12/20/2012 3:20pm

You have a fantastic product with solid system backing it up. I have became your Pro subscriber the day I tried it out and believed this can't go wrong. I am happy that I made the right decision.

12/20/2012 3:26pm

Just to add my last comment - guys thanks for acknowledging customers who has trusted you and supported you from your inception and promised to keep the subscription charges to the signed up price for Pro as well as the features. Very few business does that. Thanks for being ethical in your business approach.

Yevez
12/20/2012 3:48pm

I really like that search box feature!

12/20/2012 4:15pm

Thanks for the great updates. I love Weebly and have recommended you to just about everyone.

I have done great things with my website and have gotten great results.

12/20/2012 8:17pm

Best wishes to best webbers. I love your ethical support all around as that is my theme as an ehtical copywriter (bit of an oxymoron!)
www.copyfiona.com
As a copywriter, Graphic and Web guys check my site all the time for when I do work with them,... and, well, you know how they can be ...well, you know... anyway ... THEY SAY IT''S OK!!! (that's big in Graphic Guys language). And when I say 'I did it myself' ... (this is always tough on copywriters as Graphic Guys (GGs) think Copywriters (CWs) can't do it without them) ... they say 'Have you done Indesign course?' or just 'No way" (that's also huge for GGs).

So thanks Weebly Guys (WGs) - there's something fun about being with you that adds good spirit. I'm grateful.

Good evening, I wanted to give a segestão compared to Pro, you could provide some other payment is made billet as banking or some other, even if it is more expensive, have great enteresse to upgrade to the Pro version, but the payment method is very limited .

12/20/2012 10:18pm

Now I get to see the faces behind Weebly, love the pic. As for the new changes, awesome stuff. Keep up the great work.
Merry Christmas to you all and all the best for 2013.

12/20/2012 11:18pm

I love weebly, I tell everyone about it, and I actually have started many people on that site. We also ask all our partners, who want their site listed on our company site mozzlestead.com to support weebly by using your service to build our sister sites.

You guys are amazing. Thank you for all the hard work you have put into our experience. I love it!

12/21/2012 2:42am

at last now you are getting there well done . what happens now

big bad bob

12/21/2012 3:02am

This all sounds amazing....next year can we please have some Christmas themed layouts or the ability to change the backgrounds not just the headers so we can add a bit of temporary sparkle.

12/21/2012 4:36am

I LOVE Weebly. I am so happy I found you (via Get Paid For Who You Are). It has changed the way I manage my virtual presence and run my business. I recommend Weebly to other solo-preneurs when they are looking to build a website. Thank you for everything you do!

12/21/2012 4:39am

Great stuff! Particularly like getting to see those "people" behind the code. Quick question. As expected, a conglomeration of web nerds, save for the hot chick on the right. Who's she?

I have been with weebly over a year now and I absolutely Love my website it's easy to use as well as easy to edit and setup. I love all the features that you all have available to weebly users. I am a Professional Psychic/Medium with growing chain of clients so Weebly is right up my ally!

12/21/2012 6:16am

If we can upgrade before January 7th, we can get a advantage. But I don't have idea to upgrade to pro, because I am running with limited budget.

12/23/2012 7:19am

How can you be running on a limited budget when your website is about making money? Are you admitting your website is a scam? Good luck with that.

12/21/2012 6:29am

I REALLY like the suggestion of a one button access to switch between English and French. Thank you for your work. Robin

I think Weebly should HIRE some people of Color...! Why all the employees or team members are White !!!....

Oh Please
12/26/2012 4:11am

Oh, brother. Do you have a problem seeing an entire group of people whose skin tone is the color pinkish? If so, maybe you're a bigot. Perhaps your comment would be more appropriate posted on the sites of, say, Black Entertainment Television (BET), the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP, and the "color" is not pinkish), etc.

12/21/2012 8:03am

Great work guys but agree about better mobile appearance as it does look all rather bitty.
Have a Great Christmas all.

12/21/2012 8:13am

I finally got all those features that needed the most as "search button" and finally the "slideshow", but there is still one thing missing which is very important and that is if you guys could please improve the revenue buttons like we should be able to add drop down menu with item price or size, text boxes for more info and then at the bottom click on buy now/add to cart and the other one would be if we could check out on the same page rather than going to PayPal cuz it is really not convenice for cusotmers going back and forth.
I appreciate if you could plz take this into consideration for the betterment of WEEBLY.

12/21/2012 9:36am

Why are there ads on my site now?

Dennie
12/21/2012 10:31am

HTML5 is the new demand....

12/21/2012 10:41am

I am excited about the updates, they are great and I have used them on some of my new sites. However, I am alarmed by the price change, I have 8 sites on my account which all use pro features. My understanding is that after my 2-year plan is over I will have to pay $8 per month per site? Is there no way to group this cost because as it stands it will be costly to keep my sites functioning due to the monthly cost.

Meg
12/21/2012 10:47am

Too bad it's not free... But how else is this wonderful company going to make it's money and not go out of business? Wonderful job, Weebly!

12/21/2012 10:58am

What I can do is good and bad. Good is that I was able to move my six year old web page and I think it was okay and will keep it. The bad news is I have a second service of my family. It has 10,000 photos and I have to move them one at a time with these folks. I'm not going to do that, I'll cancel that account and look for some place that can do it. Anyone have a service to recommend that can deal with all the photos?

12/22/2012 1:33am

Really thank you so much for creating something that is REAL value for my money which is hard to say these days. The only further improvement I would like to see is the chance to put international buttons with country flags on customized location on your page.
