New Features: Web Fonts & Social Media Buttons

We're excited to have just released 2 excellent features to Weebly that are now available to all users.

Web Fonts

We just introduced 60 new font choices! You were previously limited to 13 fonts because only about 13 fonts are natively supported by everyone's computers. Thanks to the broad support HTML5 now enjoys, we've upgraded Weebly to offer a whole new set of fonts!

To access the font choices, click on the "Design" tab, and then click on "Design Options".

Social Media Buttons for Your Blog

Our new social media buttons make it really easy for people to share your blog posts on Facebook & Twitter. You've probably seen these buttons all over the web, and now they're automatically integrated into the bottom of each of your blog posts.  

Once someone shares your post on Facebook or Twitter, their friends see the update, and then your website gets even more readers and comments! However, if you don't like these new buttons, you can easily turn them off by un-checking the option under the "Manage Blog" area.

Great work guys! I was trying to figure out a way to do this! Just one thing: since the update, the <title> tag in the single post of a blog seems to be messed up, hence the title of the post is actually written on top of the page instead of in the title bar. Anyone experiencing the same thing? It happens on my blog only when the title starts with a number. eg: http://www.capoeiraoxossimilano.it/7/post/2010/10/1-stage-di-capoeira-oxossi-milano-10-ottobre-2010.html

Would have been better to integrate these all over the website and not just restricted to blog. Personally would have prefered a share link button as it gets better exposure within facebook. Anyway I have managed to do this by using HTML coding. The fonts are cool though, look forward to playing with them!

It is great! The only problem is how to change font in blog title?!? Is it possible to see only like button and not twitter? I agree with @CuffPhotography -share facebook link button is better, but the rumors are that facebook don't like it.

I mean, i was kinda going crazy 'coz the way i added share buttons on my posts didn't seem to work, but this has just solved my problem! and the fonts are amazing too..you guys gave me two things i have been wishing for..like santa! hahaha :)

Good fun! Now please update the FOOTERS component with the same features as HEADER BANNER, especially the SAVE check box function. Also add in the ability to insert a background color within the footer section. Thanks Team Weebly - excellent work as always!

@Robsten Lust, Yes that works but a share button is much simpler, click a button and it updates your status with the link automatically. Like only posts a small comment on your profile saying 'CuffPhotography recommends {link}' Try it on this page and you'll see what I mean. http://www.cuffphotography.com/share.html

Thanks for the new fabulous fonts! I applied one (HoneyScript) to my website and published it. Works fine on my computer but not on other computers. I'm at work and I don't see HoneyScript, I only see Trebuchet and everything is messed up. Please help!! Thanx!!

...not sure if it's just me, but the 'Like' and 'Tweet' buttons don't show up at all on my mobile version of my site. And the buttons seems very temperamental on my Blog on the full site, sometimes neither button, sometimes one, occasionally both. Does make it easier having it automatically on every blog post.

Thanks for the update. However, I do not use the blog feature at all. I have integrated, via html, facebook like buttons in many places on my site, but I have to create the button manually for each page. It would be really helpful if the facebook and twitter share buttons could be integrate into the rest of the site. The other feature that I have been waiting for, and I think is not a complex one, is ability to attach links to each slide in the new slide show element. Thanks for all of your great work!! Love the fonts, thanks! Also, with the social media buttons, it would be helpful to be able to have one but not the other - i.e. I'd rather not have FB but would like to have twitter. Better than all or nothing. Weebly keeps getting better!

I'm going to have to check these new fonts out now. It will save me time from having to use Illustrator and make images of fonts/pics etc. I already notice the Twitter and FB buttons in the blog section...nice addition. Also noticed that when sharing a link on FB, the link gives an actual preview to the page now...AWESOME addition.

Helllo, great job on improvement! Though these new fonts seemed to work only yesterday, today they do not show up. I've changed it to 'Angelina' again, and Updated it multiple times, and the font disappears. Thanks!

You guys rock! The problem with the <title> tag has been solved. It would be great if you can give the users a greater control over the facebook integration: It would be great to set for each page tags (as og:title, og:url, og:image, og:type, og:site_name) and fb:page_id, fb:app_id, fb:admins. At the moments tags are embedded in the pages, but their value is not the one I want. Cheers

I want to use the Delicious Blue template but want to have my own logo where the sire name appears, and I can't seem to do this. Logos are personal things, they are our online idetifier so please add the function to all templates to allow the insertion of logos over the site name.

I am only able to view the Facebook and Twitter Social media buttons on my blogs when I am logged in and editing. Shouldn't they also be viewable when my blog is published online ?

I know that facebook helps other people latch onto my cartoons in a big way - and it was always an extra bit of faff going to their pages, adding the url, copying across.... Also great to see it added across all users, not just a pro thing. It's such a simple add on, it makes sense for everyone to have access to it.

This is wonderful! THANK YOU! I would love to have a border box. With thickness selections, as well as style (dtted, double line, etc.) Also the divider. I wish I could rotate it vertically, for my two-column (doubled, so 4-column) layouts. Can I already do this and I am just missing this?? Please help, Thanks soo much!!

If you want facebook like buttons you can add them to your other pages as well just go on facebook and but like buttons in search and you will be able to get the html code and just add it to your site, and then you can put it where you want, I have one on my site at top. I hope this helps

While it is great to have new fonts available, why does a paragraph font have to be all the same via the design tab? Why not have it on the toolbar with the other font options? A probably font related problem is that the edit view doesn't always show exactly what will appear on the published page. I found this when using paragraphs in the dual column tool. And related to paragraphs in dual columns, don't you think it would be useful for the chain link tool to have a box to box flow option like MS Publisher?

Weebly rocks! I never built a website before, nor had any knowledge of how to build one when I joined Weebly. You made the whole experience so easy and enjoyable. The only thing that I had hoped for was more font choices and now we have them! Thank you!!! I would second the suggestion of putting a font drop down box in the tool bar. A cool addition to the site, but is there any way to turn them off? I have a social media bar I add to the bottom of my posts, so at the moment Twitter and Facebook buttons pop up twice.

I love the fonts, but why does the change have to affect every single page? For example if I want one font on my children portraiture page and another font on my wedding page, I can't have it. I dont know code, so I cna't just go there and change it.

Try fixing Tal.Ki forum before adding more features. Under the "elements" section it indicates that it can be used but it doesn't work!!! If you're not going to fix it take it out and put some other feature in there..

I was looking at some old adsense accounts the other day when I noticed that one of them had been making money. This was strange because I hadn't used that account on any of my 74 websites.

After poking around for a while I discovered that there was a connection to "weebly" in the text. Hm.. me thinks.

I had created a Weebly account two years ago but forgot about it. I played around with it at the time and made a mental note that it was fairly progressive, but not ready yet. I had created one single page and had dropped an adsense block onto it. There was nothing there in the way of content. I mean... this page really sucked! But it was... earning money.

I eventually found my password and got back in. I quickly reviewed the new features and was immediately impressed. So much so that I created a pro account and will like create many more. I've played with it now for 24 hours and have five websites up and running.

I love the way it handles my paypal account. I love all of the features.

It handles SEO fairly well too. Along with my backling software and seo routines, my sites will do very well on this platform.

Even better, Weebly is going to make my job about 40% easier. I am a one man band. I run all of my 74 sites myself and I handle all of the seo and backlinking. At the same time, I have local customers screaming for web services. Weebly is going to make it easy for me to service these folks and is going to put tons of cash in my pocket at the same time.

Kudos to you guys for doing this. You are making a difference in my life now.

I'm 50 now. And obviously slow and barely literate on this stuff. But I had to have my 15 YO son help me put the SCRIBD badge on my home page. For now, I simply don't understand what everyone here is excited about. Where is the Twitter button that I am supposed to be seeing? I hit the button and sent an ad to Twitter about what you are doing. But I don't see anything about how to make it work on my own site!

P.S. I simply cannot understand how to find my stats on my Home/account page. Even my husband can't find it and he's PD smart.

I love the fonts alot!. but, i need help. you know how you have pictures on your page. But, when you click onto the pictures. How can it send to a different page but, still be in the same page as before. Like for instinct makeup page. I have a picture of a brush. Its small but, when i click on it. it goes to a new page having a big picture of the brush with info on it. Do you get what im trying to say?. I really need help!. thank you

I think this new feature is great but i also think you should be able to do different fonts in seperate paragraphs. It would also be good if you could put borders round paragraphs.

I have a number of likers on a particular entry but I can't see who they are - this information would be very handy! Otherwise a share button would be a fantastic tool for FB too :)

I'm sure you've heard of these suggestions but we are in desperate need of a few other features!

1. html images- need to be able to resize i.e: small, med, lg

2. Ability to insert an additional sidebar besides the navigation that has options to recolor and add a frame around it.

3.Insert tables.

Also, I think if we pay for Weebly upgrade and we insert an embedded document. Only that document should show, not the websites advertised name. It looks like a free or trial version. Not good for professional sites!

These are great. Especially with Facebook's attempt to oust Google as the number one search engine. I would suggest you make it easier to add these to every page of the site. Having like/tweet options on every page will be the norm within the next little while.

I have been using weebly for like 3 years now, and I am so excited when I saw that there were fonts.
I have a few suggestions that might make Weebly users happy *hint hint*, try adding maybe a few more, but when adding paragraphs, be able to change the font there as well. Then we could switch fonts in between paragraphs instead of just using one.
Other than that, great job. Look forward to anything else that's new :)

Also, I know that this is totally random, but my computer won't let me upload photos with the photo uploader... Do you think that you could maybe put a simple uploader or maybe a upload via email? Just a thought...

Additional fonts are always a plus. Nothing is more irritating that seeing the same fonts over and over again. Having unique font makes your page(s) more memorable.
