Your Websites Are Now Mobile Friendly!

We're happy to announce that all websites made with Weebly are now mobile optimized. When someone visits your website from a mobile device, they are automatically shown the mobile version.

The color that appears at the top and bottom of the mobile site is configurable under the "Settings" tab of the editor. Here you can also opt to disable the mobile site from showing altogether. In this case, your mobile visitors would still be shown the regular website.

We hope you enjoy these new features! As always, we'd love to hear your feedback in the comments and greatly appreciate your support. We have a number of other cool features to announce soon, so make sure to keep on eye on our blog!

...hummm... how strange. As far as I´m concerned I haven´t seen major glitches or inconsistencies with Weebly, although I have created 4 sites already with it, most of the time editing each with a different machine in different working places, home, office, etc (I live overseas). I got a PowerMac with an old OS X 10.4 with Safari and Firefox 3.6, by all means an outdated platform to work with new technologies like Weebly, I also used a 2007 Dell with XP with both Firefox and Explorer 7, also work with a "new" 2009 HP Pavillion with Vista and Explorer, as you can see I work with different OS, under both Mac and PC, with a wide range of web browsers of different versions... and always the same result: solid editing of Weebly pages and no nasty demons. Of course they got to work on their wide range template offerings, but if you consider all our pages are being built for free in their platform (until we feel its time to upgrade to pro) this site and what it offers, is nothing short of amazing.

I do agree with the poster Pro User.

User Login, Memberships and the ability to add Admin accounts are vital funtions for the professional and business elements of our websites. It will also be a huge benefit to Weebly as well.

I know wordpress is a big competitor to take on but I am convinced Weebly can do it.

This is a great new feature, but there's one thing that I think needs to be fixed. "Extra Large" YouTube players trail off of the page and, unlike viewing the full website, there's no way to zoom out to see more of the page. Maybe make all the large YouTube players shrink to fit on the screen on the mobile site.

Hi, not sure if anyone has already mentioned this:

I'm in the UK, and my Weebly built site does not display proplerly on an iPhone 3GS, in either the full or mobile version. It shows jpegs. However, embedded documents like Word or PDFs cannot be seen.

looks great, still has problems with Google Maps though. Doesn't properly fit the map to the screen on my iphone and when you move onto the map it gets stuck there.

Thanks for making our sites more mobile-friendly! Just one request, but it's an important one. My site is primarily a blog. The non-blog pages look fine in the mobile view, but the blog page is not at all user-friendly, at least on my phone. The sidebar, where I have search mechanisms and other important info, does not show up at all. Wondering if others have the same concerns with their blog pages?

I would love to see the mobile blog pages re-tooled so the sidebar would show up. To me, it would also be ideal if the mobile version would also eliminate photos and videos and show just a text link with the blog post headline. The link would then go to the permalink. May be too much to ask of your programmers, but I thought I'd toss it out there as my Weebly Christmas wish list. Thanks again for your hard work in improving our sites!

It's not bad, but I'm unable to navigate the mobile version of my websites (at least on my ancient non-smart cell phone), because the list of pages doesn't show up. There's something that looks like it should be a link at the top, but I'm unable to select it as a link.

You guy might want to work on the kinks. I have a blackberry 9700 and I checked out my site, and I cannot view the header banner, as well as the menu above the header...

that's a big down fall!

I'd never heard of Weebly and had run many searches for web editors without seeing it mentioned... then a friend mentioned it in passing and voila! All problems solved after trying a half dozen others. You need higher visibility... too good to overlook! One problem with mobile viewing, once I clicked on the regular view mode I couldn't get back to the mobile view w/o turning off my iPhone and then back on. Maybe a 'return to mobile view' option?

there is a little problem when it come to youtube videos on the mobile view. when i press menu the menu goes behind the video making it so all pages behind the video cant be clicked. plus the video is partially of the page.

Three comments
1. Being Mobile optimized is great. Mobile searches are growing rapidly.
2. Google places is also Mobile optimized if your business has ever been listed in a Business Directory you probably already have a website set up for you. If you need help just ask I have a free guide or can do it for you.
3. Weebly Blog is PR7 so a link to your website is very valuable. There are not many websites above PR5 that you can leave a link without paying.

Finally Weebly crew this is a great product and so easy to produce a our own great websites Thanks.

Eventually it would be nice to be able to have control over the mobilization of the site. The mobile version of my site looks awful. Though I may be overlooking something I am not sure how to fix it yet. Any suggestions? I have it turned off right now. Though I would love to be able to turn it back on. Am I missing something?

Connection speed can also frustrate readers. A lot of the time, people are trying to access your site on slow cellular data connections. And despite the attempts by providers to increase capacity, it still feels “slow,” since the more they add, the more we consume.
You want both regular and new readers to have a great experience with your site, whether it’s at home on a nice large screen or while they are mobile and seeing it on a tiny device. :)

Hi this is an amazing idea, however when i view mine via a moblie it works but looks all messed up, the pics are minute and u cant click on my menu bar, is there any way to chance this.. Thanks suzanne.
