We just released 9 new website themes that we think you'll really enjoy!  The themes have a range of different artistic styles and are all around very polished & professional.  You'll notice that all the themes have a header image that's easily replaceable with one of your own using the ImagePerfect tool we announced last week.

Many of these themes were actually top contenders in the Weebly Design Contest we held back in May.  You'll be seeing more themes from the contest being released in the coming weeks.

Many of these seem similar, but I do like them! I might try them out! :) I like that Weebly is becoming more versatile. It would be nice to be able to set up posting at later dates like in WordPress in case someone is out of town or wants regular posts without having to go into the site and send them every time. Just a suggestion :)

my question is if i click a new design it gets rid of my old header images and i have to start over. why cant it just replace each page with what i already have just using the new template?

The new themes look alright, but I'm hesitant to change my site's theme if I could never go back to the settings and changes I made in the old theme. If someone would confirm if that happens, say so here!

The ImagePerfect tool is brilliant thanks. (Only bug I found was after I saved it and then went to change the title font, I lost it and it reverted to the origonal image). Other than that an excellent valuable feature

Will you next please consider changing the position of the "comments" on our individual weebly blog pages to be at the bottom of the blog post instead. Puh-puh-puh-pleeeease. This would make it so much better so if you don't have a lot of traffic it's not so obvious (0)Comments - right at the top. It's like YIKES the first thing you see. I would love weebly more if this could be changed to have the option to have the comments in different places.

The new themes are nice, but what would be even better is if you could move the elements of the themes around so that things like the main image and page buttons were movable. Also more options for the website title would be nice.

Being able to design one's own theme would also be amazing. Maybe a setup wizard could be provided and again the elements could be movable like the other drag and drop elements.

I actually am using the one directly in the center, and using ImagePerfect, or whatever it's called, I made the best header image I've ever used in a website. Weebly DOES keep getting better and better, Simon- you're right about that one.

Wish these were around when I started creating mine !!
But I am still very happy with my own www.tonystark.com.au - based on an existing theme with some cool gifs replacing the standard ones.

I love the new themes, even from just a year ago, weebly has quadrupled it's elements, designs, and options! I can't wait to see what this year brings.

I would like to see a sidebar option, where you would customize the background color, rounded or square corners. Also, if you could add color to the background of a text box. We have always struggled with making it look divided, and sectioned, rather than just a word document.

I really like the new designs, but I would really like to see more designs that have the pages going vertically. I have too many pages for them to all fit going horizontally, so to have more options going vertically would be VERY nice! :)

I am very pleased with weebly but after viewing the new templates and reading the raves... I'm wonderig what you all are looking at. Maybe you're seeing something that I'm not. There's nothing great about these themes, except for 2 of them they are all the same.

When are the winning themes going to be available?? Even some of the ones that didn't win deserve to be available to us because they are awesome.

webbly kids, do not listen to these beginners here showering you with superlatives. They obviously have no idea what they are talking about. There are essentially only three different themes above. And none really eye-catching. All quite simple. Done by the people, except fo the brown one, who are barely starting in the page layout design.

I am saying this: the effort is commendable, but the products are basic. There are tons of spectacular themes freely available on the net that make these above look like a kid's work.

To conclude on a positive note, these will hopefully provoke more work from more people. That, in turn, will hopefully result in some seriously good work. Because there are some seriously talented people out there.

Flush them out.

I would LOVE to see a format that allows me to create wider or smaller columns for the blog feature. I would like to be able to add more to my blog information on the side of the blog, and perhaps multiple columns.

As a designer, I would really like to see some templates which are portfolio oriented. Some of these designs are just too narrow or flowery. Something clean, with lots of space to work around and to display large images would be great!

I would absolutely LOVE the option of having a 'fixed' (static?) menu bar for my website....not sure if that's possible, but if it is, or if Weebly could possibly introduce that option, I would be forever grateful! This is one of the features that I feel would VERY strongly improve my website, and many others perhaps too! It would certainly step up your game, Weebly, would be MEGA slick, just what you guys need! ;) ...

ONE more thing is - some of these themes I really, really WISH I could use but it seems that anything with a 'top bar image' at the top of the page, can ONLY be used with an image... I mean, I want the option of using the theme but WITHOUT the picture at the top of my webpage! I just need a menu bar, no images! Shame that most of the nice themes require an image!.... Please give us the option to remove it!

P.S - Weebly, you are doing perfectly well with the introduction of these themes that are nice and sleek, basic, clean and concise - most people who are looking to present their website/services in a professional manner will appreciate the concept of such designs. Ignore the people who devalue 'simpler' (or 'cleaner') to compensate for their lack of taste! :p

We used just one 'weebly-tab' and filled it up with a complete product overview and created our own 4 tabs by putting 4 images with a link to our own pages in 4 columns. So easy!!!! On another note, I quite agree that we could do with some more truly black designs. Personally, I find the new additions to be a bit more difficult to handle (an example being the header image formatter), but as a Weebly veteran it is hardly difficult. ^^

Instead of new themes, although they are good, I would like to see Weebly create an option to make your own Mobile Website. As the population becomes more familiar with visiting websites on their Mobile or iPod, it is wise for all companies to create a Mobile Website as the normal one may contain too large files to open or it may destroy the layout of the site itself. I hope Weebly concider this feature as I think it will help many people and is a required feature in the modern age. Thank You.

hi.switched to weebly in jan and i really like it much much much MUCH better than freewebs.i had nothing but problems with the most basic things.

the only thing i wish weebly themes had more of (in any theme) is the ability to have more pages in the navagation bar.not all themes have the same amount of pages,nor do they automatically add pages when needed.i personally don't like sub pages but i'm sure others do.

I really don't see what the big deal is with having a wider selection of more modern grunge and viney type templates. All of these are straight out of the box plain Jane. They all have the same feel except for one design. It's the only real design in the whole fleet. The one with the dripping ink pen in the header. I can't find a way to replace the main page background with a better one. If you replace the header it doesn't match so there is not a whole lot you can do to make it better than the millions of plain ones out there. There are those certain websites that stand out above the rest and then there are ones that look like everybody else. Why have a program with a thousand templates that are mediocre. There are millions of upscale background photos available. The template structure is perfect. They just have very little design. I hope to see top shelf design going forward or I'm just spinning my wheels lost in a forest of dull design. All that needs done is to get the basic background upscaled then the photos that each individual puts in makes all the difference in the world. The problem is if I have a photo shoot with a music artist in red , green and black apparel, the photos never match the design. The shoot has nice background in the photo and you drop a brown background with nice brick and a brown piano in every template and it never matches because they all are out of the box crayola color. If the backgrounds were texture design and I don't mean clouds and dots but more like juice drop texture like the dripping ink pen one then the colors match better. Just a thought but nobody I've found except for blogspot gives you the ability to replace the full page bg with your own. Unless I'm missing something. I know in Weebly you can swap out the header images in css/files but I can't find the main background file to replace with my own. Is there a way?

Whilst these new designs are most welcome I still feel these formats are very similar to the ones already on offfer.
Weebly still doesn't offer enough formats to address profile websites such as ones needed for actors, presenters or models, where profile pictures are needed. It would also be helpful to be able to alter background colours etc, which I would have thought would be an easy option to add?

Hi, just wondering if we can't have more wide designs with a logo and also having a vertical menu. Those are pretty limited.

The above templates are nice but none of them have vertical menus. The horizontal menus end in 'more' with a dropdown. That's why I would rather a vertical, thanks

Peter,

It's easy to create a vertical menu in a column if you add self created tabs with a link to own pages. I created my own horizontal menu (just 4 tabs: home-contact-ref-links) in a similar way and filled 1 weebly-tab up with a complete product overview of my business. Good luck!

Hey weebly.
Would just like to say that this is a great user friendly website creator.
But I just had a look at google adsense and you want 50% of the income that the site generate?? I think that is a bit rich. You hardly have anything to do with the site being made and your "client" could just walk away and look for a better website maker.
I will advise you now that that is not a good choice to make. 35% would be a reasonable amount or even 40% but 50!?
You will need to have a look at that!

This would make it so much better so if you don't have a lot of traffic it's not so obvious (0)Comments - right at the top. It's like YIKES the first thing you see. I would love weebly more if this could be changed to have the option to have the comments in different places.

Anything like spry widgets coming soon? Tabs & accordion would be great! That way I can keep people on my same page, but be able to add a lot more info under one topic!

Is there a way to create a spry widget in dreamweaver and add it to weebly?

Ummm....no update since 8/11/2010. Why is there only 1 update every 2 months? The other service providers (www.yola.com, www.webs.com, www.wix.com) and many others give updates all the time...at least telling us what they are working on.

I absolutely love Weebly....don't get me wrong. But, surely it doesn't take 2 months to give us an update on what you're working on and when you're likely to release it.

In the meantime, interested users can start uploading their OWN TEMPLATES through weebly's design section (might have to log onto the beta.weebly.com to do it). Enjoy!

You guys have a lots of cool feature which i can add in my site. Just want to let you know how happy i am that i found you. My site is created just a few days ago and i think it is looking good. We used just one 'weebly-tab' and filled it up with product overview and created my own tabs by putting some images with a link. It's so easy!!!! Thanks for all the features you give we users from time to time.

I like the themes, but I noticed that none of them are good for younger people. Don't get me wrong, I love the site but alot of teens and pre-teens use this site, and most of these themes are too mature for teen related web pages. Other than that I love the scenes with the island views and the rocks but they would be better for adult web sites.

cool, cool, i might just use one of those during a future site. and hey, i really like weebly. its so far the best website making site ive been to and worked on. i love it! its soo easy. the only delima is slideshows. weebly should get a new feature for slideshows. just sayin.

I love the designs but I don't like it when there are big pictures on the themes. Please please think about this because I find it hard ot find a picture for my website. The big picture you see all the time.
