New features: Copy Pages & Page Specific SEO Options

Check out the new & improved pages tab of the Weebly editor!  We've made some changes we think you'll like:
Copy a page

The ability to copy or duplicate a page was a long requested feature we're very happy to release. Now, all you need to do is click the new "Copy page" button, and with this one click, all the elements on that page will be duplicated to a new page -- a really useful feature if you're building multiple pages with similar layouts!
Page specific SEO options
Picture
Another highly requested feature was the ability to specify descriptions & meta tags on a per page basis. Page descriptions and meta tags are placed in the HTML code of a page to assist search engines (like Google) in understanding the content on the page. The better a search engine understands the content on a page, the more likely it is that the page appears in search results.  

For our more advanced users, we added "header code" and "footer code" fields on a per page basis as well.
Icons for your homepage & password protected pages
Picture
As you probably realized, the top page in your list of pages is your homepage.  To make this more clear, your homepage now has a little home icon, and any pages you've password protected will have a lock icon.

This is a good update and all, but taking away custom html and giving us this. Ugh not so much. it's giving me second thoughts about this "paid" weebly acc. probably will not renew...Godaddy is much better.

sry if im not a team backslapper.

i think its reasonable to assume that some ppl are wondering what happened to the old forum and why they are only provided the new forum facility with out an announcement or anything at all.

there should be a complete support page for it as i cant figure it out. this should have been done at the same time as the change over.

i like weebly but some of the things that are done here arent consistent with the overall model.

On the subject of the unique description and meta keywords per page... thank you so much for adding this feature. And, I don't want to sound ungrateful, but is there any way to add the title as well? Please?

Google says it doesn't even consider the keywords or description when ranking a site. That's why I've been asking for unique page titles. Please guys. This is the ONLY THING keeping me from being able to place serious sites (clients) with Weebly.

I love all Weebly has to offer. There's no better anywhere. But, I (we) need to unique title feature to really get those pages ranked well.

great additions but it would be nice if there was a better way of organising you pages especially if you have a lot. Maybe some sort of folder systhem so that you don't have to scroll down thirty pages everytime.

That's awesome thanks, but does this mean that we have to copy the meta words to every page that we set up from now on or will they be automatically copied from the home page and we have to go in and change them? hmm going to go play around with this now.

Will agree with many that we are waiting for a feature of copying a single element to another page.
Will it come?
Also would be good to have some chose of languages on blog pages and other elements that are not for chagning. Yet, I hope!

I notice that in our original SEO (under the "Settings" tab) the Google verification is in the header code - now for each page of the site do I copy that to the header code area or does it only apply to the home page?

Howeber making features that are actually needed?
Blog pages continue forever and ever, isnt a feature needed to make it possible to break the blog into pages depending on length of posts?

These cosmetic changes were totally lame imho.

thanks for the great service though. the original weebly idea is good, but the new stuff, the progress looks like it will take this company down ..

Weebly is going well and I hope it will be more better. I have a suggestion to you as per my experience. When people make their website they have a lot stuff to upload on the weebly server but there is no folder option to manage and sorting the files easily. Suppose somebody has 500 to 1000 files and wants to link with someone then he/she will be horrible to find out the particular file. It will be very easy to manage this problem if you'll provide the folder option facility. The other thing is when a person upload any file on your server the file name is created with lower text with underscore but no option to rename the file. I have used many free servers with these common options such as www.esnips.com I hope you'll consider about these matters. Thanking you, Ahmed Hassan from Karachi, Pakistan.

A copy element feature would be nice. It would be excellent if page comments were displayed on the page instead of only the moderator being able to view them. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the ability to do unique meta-tags for each page. What I really would like to see now is an ability to do blog-specific meta-tags for each individual blog post, much as Blogger and Wordpress allow you to do. This would give much greater flexibility and of course the ability to drive surfers to specific pages rather than just vaguely pointing them to the whole blog. Please?
