Photo Galleries: Now with captions and links! 10/15/2009

You may have recently noticed a few updates to the photo gallery element. Now we offer you the option to add captions on your images or setup links to other pages or websites!

This feature is very easy to use -- just click on your photo gallery images in the editor and you'll see a few icons. The chain link icon is used to setup an image link and the text bubble icon is used to add a caption. The captions show when you're viewing the gallery images at full size or when hovering your mouse over the thumbnail. Check out the examples below and let us know what you think in the comments!

No one gives a crap about photo captions I can add my own captions in paint shop before I upload them. Give us something we can use. I have a pro account and it sucks and you keep throwing us scraps trying to make us think you are doing something.

Wow, nice addition to photo gallery - captions & links - who'd ever thought!

OBSERVATION: I see Intuit.com is out there but you've got to give a credit card number to try it out for 30 days. So sad - to bad! Weebly rocks with the method you use to let newbies see for themselves Weebly does the job even though Intuit had some interesting features you don't have. I'm keeping the faith though. With changes like these you will catch-up and pass them in no time.

I don't know if it is just me, but the only font colors available are black and red. In the help menu the font color selector looks much different and offers more colors to choose from.

Excellent - I have been wanting this update for a long time! And I'd use it, except you've not added a "no right click" option. My only issue with your gallery is that people would still be able to save my artwork and photography, whereas a flash gallery of my own making doesn't allow it.

I have to agree with everyone…these are such beautiful pictures. Can you tell us a little about the places where these were took? I have never seen such vibrant and lustrous colors…well I have once when I went to Juliette, GA when I went to the place where they filmed “Fried Green Tomatoes” and on the way I saw much similar but not as spectacular.

Very Nice with the captions and all. I am wanting to set up a photography website (it's not up yet). But I dont want people copying my images. Can you put in an option for copyright protected photos like using Silverlight or even just a button to click when uploading to opt having it protected from copying. Even if I put an X over the picture or my signature on it before uploading people are still able to copy and paste them and using something like photo shop they can remove things like that. I really don't want to to put up a website with my pictures until I know they are going to be protected. Thanks!

Hi. I had a question about the Google AdSense, but when I finally found it after looking through several blog pages, I found that comments were closed, so I'm going to post it here. My friend and I have started a website (which you can go to by clicking my comment name), and we hope to make it grow into something big in the upcoming months (or years if high school gets in the way) and we only have a sample version published. We want to put in Google AdSense to try to earn some extra money. My question is: Can we use Google AdSense to earn money altough we're only 14, going on 15, or would that be illegal? Hey Weebly. I love the polldaddy thing but when ever I finish creating my poll and press "add to website" it goes back to my website but the poll will just go back to the original one when you first drag it out to your website. Please help!
