Announcing Custom Themes! 02/26/2009
![]() After quite a bit of work building and testing the new custom theme features, we're happy to announce that we've finally launched the ability for any user to incorporate their own theme into Weebly. Once you do so, you'll be presented with a full suite of tools designed to help make advanced customization as simple as possible. From a syntax-highlighted code editor, to an instant preview tab, we've put some work into making the editing interface simple and comfortable. When you've created a theme you like, you can export it by clicking on the "Export" button, which will prompt you to download the theme package .zip file. You can then give this theme file to any other Weebly user, who will be able to import the theme by clicking "Custom" and then "Import" under the Designs tab. Comments02/26/2009 9:10pm

It's all well and good having the ability to make custom themes. But when you can't put any of the weebly elements into the pages you make, it just makes everything ten times more difficult.

When i go into designs as described in the article there is no 'Advanced Editing Tab'
Reply
Calli 03/17/2009 1:22pm
I do hope the advanced edit is coming back, and that it is just a glitch after the massive downtime yesterday and today......

I was in the middle of doing some "Advanced Editing" today, and the tinkering I was doing to my .html and .css was being reflected in my site, then POOF!, the "Advanced Editing" feature is gone. I'm not happy. Now my site is half-ass created and I can't fix it.

Phew, I'm glad it seems to be down for everyone in this case. I was about to submit a request asking them why I couldnt see the tab on my site. So can anyone tell if now - can I insert a 'custom html' element on a page and then style it by adding some CSS to this new CSS editor that I have access to - thanks

Someone needs to make a custom weebly theme site with tons of themes to choose from and download so that people can use them on their site. If anyone does this email me at switchdesigns@comcast.net with a link to the site!
