New Support Area 11/30/2007

We're growing really fast, and that's been very exciting for us: it means that more and more of you are finding Weebly useful to create websites where you weren't able to do so before. Our old support system, though, wasn't keeping up with the times, and Dan was having a bit of trouble getting back to everybody in a timely manner -- we were getting over 100 requests per day, which was becoming difficult to manage.

In order to manage your requests better, we've rolled out a new support system that contains much more help information, and when we don't already have an answer, will handle each request by assigning a ticket. You'll be able to visit the support area to view the help information and file a ticket, or email support@weebly.com. From that point, you can continue to reply by email or the support area, whichever you find more convenient, and we'll be able to keep track of your request more efficiently.

Since there's a lot more self help information available, we've already seen a drop in help requests. With the new system, we're also setting a goal of replying to support requests within 24-48 hours.

well i know you guys are all busy but i have a few questions:

Is it at all possible to create an area for people to post blogs?

Is it at all possible to create other parts to the site such as a new page or links that lead to a new 'part' of the site?

If we post ads on our site, are we doing it for free or are you guys getting the money for it because since you have provided this service for free you should be getting compensation or I'm not going to put any ads.

I have just added a contest to my site: check it out by clicking on my name. Just wondering, you can add games to your site by typing the name of the game, and then under the picture and paragraph stuff, there will be a thing that says www. click on that and say link to a website. Then type in the URL of the site and when someone clicks on the name of the game, it will take them to that game.There is also another way that doesn't work as well, so i shouldn't tell you that. good luck

Could someone remove all the advertising for sites here? Jeeez! I thought one was supposed to add questions here, not get free advertising-space.

HOW TO ADD GAMES:

To add a game to your site, you must first find the game, then find the embed-code for it, then drag-and-drop custom HTML, and click edit. Paste the embed-code into the custom HTML. If you don't like the way it looks, is it too big, is it too small? Then change the height and width in the custom-HTML.

Many of the people who have posted here seem to have little or no understanding of basic HTML, but please learn it. If you want to implement games etc. it is going to be a great help, and before you ask; google it, just type in something like "HTML crashcourse".

HOW TO FIND THE EMBED-CODE OF A GAME:
Every web-page uses source-code, even flash-pages (which have to insert a title, and the flash-element).

If you use what is probably the best browser in the world, Firefox (dump Internet Explorer!), just press Ctrl U, or go to View-->Page Source. Try it out here.

Please read a bit and try to understand what functions different terms have.

To try something out, you can open notepad, type in what you want to test, and save it as *.htm or *.html (the * is replaced by the filename), instead of *.txt.

Then you exit the document, and it should suggest that you open it with your default browser.

To edit it, simply right-click, and select open with notepad.

(Oh yes, my website is in norwegian, but an english version might be created, we'll see)

dear weebly,

i just set up a website for my family to use. i did a lot of research in order to find the easiest possible to use website in the hopes that my parents and <gasp> grandparents might be able to edit the site. three things would make this A LOT easier:

1) blog posts via email

2) ability to sign posts with any name and email address regardless of login (so i can have everyone in the family log in with one username and pass, but still be able to distinguish blog posts easily.

3) a "post now" link to a simple login that takes you directly to the blog edit screen from the published site itself. as is, my parents have a difficult time understanding why they have to navigate to weebly.com, login, click "edit site", and then navigate to the blog before finally hitting "new post". too many clicks! not user friendly!

First of all I want to thank you for your service. Our website was designed in Oct. after my son was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. A rare bone cancer. We use his blog to keep family informed, etc.
I jsut want in today to spruce it up a bit and it appears that I lost some of the pages that held postings that are saved and catagorized by month. When I click on those I get an error message that the page no longer exists.
Could this just be a lag? or did I really lose them? I hope not, becasue there is a lot of great stuff on those pages!

Sadly I seem to be a minority, however, I have found the Weebly support services totally inadequate, Im tired of trying to contact them, Im fed up of not being able too navagate back to domains and so on.

I found this Site via an article about the founders in Newsweek.
An amazing effort and I'm going to have a good play around here!
What is also amazing - sadly - is the number of whingers (complainers) who don't seem to appreciate the technology involved and especially the fact that it is a FREE SERVICE.
One of the things I must do is write story about the early days of remote communications before the Internet became the Internet just from the point of view of how much it all cost in the early days (20 years ago) and the personal knowhow needed to be able to use it! :-)

The music on my above site has gone funny over the last 2 weeks. It used to work perfect, (from imeem) but now it's stopping and pausing all the time and is so annoying.
Has anybody else out there had this problem and how did you cure it. I've tried delating all music on every page and downloading all the codes again with differant music, but still stuttering. Is it something to do with BUFFERING ?

Hi guys, I've been trying to log in to do the whole myspace editing but it's not working I've never used this before and I dont understand what to do. I logged in with my myspace sign in and it poped up this screen which had nothing on it except for the very top which seem to have my myspace in it, but its just a little scroll area at the top and there is nothing else on the page... help?

Hi, I'm new. Is it right that I can only have 3 pages aside from the home page? I need more than that as I intend to have product category pages and need 5-6 It will only let me have 3.
and we can use costom html to add shopping carts? I
I'm not good with html, but with detailed instructions I can add on my own.

The site and pages load VERY slowly..... I'm wondering if this site is going to be good for ecommerce after all. Perhaps better to pay more with an more established provider? Someone please advise.

Hi Dan & the rest of you techy guys
Thanks for sorting out my music (imeem) problem. (stuttering buffering)
I took your advice and dragged all music players to top of pages.(works fine now)
I also found out I share one broadband line with 3 computers in my house. So if everyone is on web 2gether, the music stutters/stops and starts.
If i'm the only one using the web my music on weebly is fine.
