As you can see, our logo, homepage, and user dashboard area have been totally revamped!  We've been working with the guys from Sidebar Creative to create this new look and we're very happy with the results.  Next up, we'll be making many improvements to the Weebly editor, adding a variety of new elements, designs, and customization options.

We just released the option to add pages to your site that appear outside of the navigation menu.  This lets you add an unlimited number of pages to your websites, since you are no longer restricted to the number of pages the design menu can fit.  Link to these "hidden pages" using the linker tool.

Also of note, Weebly was recently featured in Newsweek magazine.  Check out the online version here to learn more about us!

My friend Greg got me started on weebly, and I love what you've done!!! Keep up the good work! I just released my first music video, and posted it on myspace and youtube accounts. Let me know how I can get more "hits" on my site here, 'cos I wanna be a part of your history!! I signed up with what you added this week, so maybe that will help. Bless ya!--JJ

Very good job. A very friendly design, users just concentrate on the contents, no need to bother with the technical stuffs.
But one thing on the upload of images, I think using FireFox is much better than IE. This is just my personal experience.
Anyway, keep up the good work.

Your weebly stuff is great and guess what, I am checking every week your pages if there is something new. (I usually do it for webb add-ons, apple, microsoft or google. And now also weebly. :-) Now - the hidden pages.
You do really a good job.

06/23/2007 4:34pm

Wow, I love weebly. It is so awesome. I can't wait for the new features you guys will add next...polls would be great!
Keep up the great work!

06/25/2007 2:34pm

I'd love to see the ability to modify line spacing. I like the template I'm using, but the extra space between lines pushes everything down the page.

06/25/2007 8:54pm

This is great. I am starting a business with little to work with and this just helps me! Veltri, your mom is my mentor and she got me into (you know where she works)many years ago. I have since left and am starting my own business. I sent her an email letting her know I read about you in Newsweek. Congrats! Your work isn't just creative and awesome it is actually helping people. thanks

07/02/2007 10:22am

07/02/2007 10:42am

I agree.

Thanks for making web site building so easy. This was my first ever project, (holiday apartment in Turkey) and I am really pleased with the results so far.
Thanks, Allister.

07/03/2007 8:43am

Great site, guys! Found out about you through Newsweek.

The linker to hidden pages doesn't seem to be working, fyi.

07/11/2007 1:40pm

Wow, this site is great! I've never seen a CMS so easy to use.

07/11/2007 5:52pm

Weebly has enabled Big Widlife, a group devoted to protecting North America's top carnivores, to educate the public about the horrific persecution wolves, bears, coyotes, and other wildlife continue to face. Our new site, courtesy of Weebly, has empowered and inspired others to take action on behave of these majestic species. Thanks Weebly, for helping us help others. BTW, check out our site at www.bigwildlife.org

Are you considering integrating an e-commerce option, so that certain pages may be dedicated to selling merchandise...

07/13/2007 8:49pm

Your program is so cool and easy to make! Just few drags and drops. If we can custom a form it would be much better!

07/14/2007 9:16pm

Thanks guys for putting something together that a regular "Joe" can understand.

07/15/2007 5:26am

Awesome indeed. However, it would be nice if you could add some more detailed documentation, especially for the new features you add.

For example, using the hidden links. I eventually figured out show to use them, but even now I suspect I'm not using them as effectively as I could.

Anyway, keep up the great work. It is excellent so far.

Regards...

Help!!!

I used the free vesrion of Weebly for about two weeks then I registered for new domain. Now, I can't access my account to update any information on the website. I can only see. Is this normal? Are they doing any maintenance work? Your help is appreciated.

08/04/2007 4:04pm

u rock, but why can't we use layouts ans backround codes

08/05/2007 11:34am

your site is super great!

i created mine as lordcenon.weebly.com

few questions to ask:
- is there a feature to embed flash, streaming mp3?
- aside from ad brite, possible for google adsense and other affiliates?
- how about sub-pages inside a page, etc.

thanks and keep it up... more power to you :)

08/06/2007 1:02pm

on my email conformation number it said it has been used what does that mean?

08/20/2007 11:44pm

hope you have more cool templates...

08/22/2007 7:30am

When I place my elements such as a feed, in this case, on a page (http://happilycoupled.com - mind you, it's very rudimentary at this time :), it seems the only option I can edit for this element is the feed's URL. Is there a way that a web design beginner like myself can resize the outline that surrounds elements (in this case, my feed's narrow widget?) The widget does not take up much space, but there seems to be no way to place another element in line with it in the same area of the page; so I end up with a small widget and a lot of unused space to the side of it, having to place other elements above or below it.

will there soon be ways to change the colors of the designs and things of that nature

09/23/2007 11:40pm

Your website has made web creation very easy. Excellent job. However, if you improve colour tools and more add up options including symbols, it would be very useful. Thank for providing me a platform.

I love the idea of making it easier for people to create their own websites without being net-nerds. But FYI, your (new?) website design doesn't seem very accessible for people with visual disabilities:
* When you increase the text size even moderately, the blocks of text start overlapping each other (for example, look what happens to the login box on the home page)
* Some of your images lack alt tags (e.g. the weebly logo on the home page)
* You're using tables for layout (e.g. the sign up boxes on the home page)
In other words, what you are doing on your own website seems a fair way from web best practice. This could weaken perceptions of your brand as an innovator in the web world?

12/03/2007 6:06am

Hi Catherine,

Thanks for bringing up these concerns. While I'm not sure exactly what you're seeing, our site performs well when increasing the font by one or two sizes. Above that, it becomes difficult to make any design adapt to a font of that size. And while the majority of our user sites are very accessible, the drag and drop paradigm inherent to Weebly is, unfortunately, not super accessible on its own right.

These are issues that we are very much concerned about, and are working to find solutions to.

Hi David

I agree that it can be difficult to manage floats and positioning to maintain a neat design in all browsers at all font sizes. But I urge you to work hard(er) at it! I know someone who has his browser set at a huge font size (because of bad eyesight), and believe me, it sorts the website sheep from the the website goats. I use him as a kind of barometer for the sites I design :) Your site really doesn't look great in any of his browsers, at his default font size. I was going to try to convince him to use Weebly to create his own website... guess I'll have to think again. Same with the lady I know who has her fonts set at a large size because of her hand shakes (a neural condition): the only way she can position a mouse reliably on something is if it is really big... hence the large fonts.

You have a great opportunity here to promote accessibility using your tools. For example, if someone wants to add an image to their page, give them an easy dialogue to fill in to create suitable alt tags. If you could design with accessibility in mind, it will mean you're not excluding huge chunks of your audience.

Thanks for listening

Awesome work! The changes made to the home page, logo and user dashboard looks great. The new facility to add pages to the website is quite good to provide more information through website. Thanks for the great article.
